Hi 🙂 your fellow Muslim gal here with a request that they're slightly embarrassed about but still need to say. Two things. First, please make dua for me that I get a full time job soon and that the interview I did recently works out inshallah. Secondly, I'm short on rent for my family so...if you have some money to spare, I'd really appreciate if you could donate some of it to me. I'm $500 short and it's due in a few days. I thought I had enough but I counted wrong. My dad is the only parent who works and he doesn't make enough to cover it so I help with the rest but I'm only working part time right now (been applying to so many full time jobs). I'm considering selling some of my things. I don't want to have to compromise my health or beliefs to get rent so I'm shyly asking for some help from those of who you are stable and well off, please and thank you. If you're able to help please message me and I can send you my PayPal info. I will pay you back as soon as I find full time work which I can feel won't take much longer inshallah. 😓🙏🏽🧿

Happy trans day of visibility to the trans and nonbinary (and many other identities that fall under the trans umbrella) Muslim folks on this app no matter how "out" or "visible" you might be in your personal and public lives. You deserve safety and I am sending you big hugs, love, protective energy and strength. I'm PROUD of you and all of us for moving through each and every day. I know we are all doing our best and doing such a good job at taking care of ourselves however we can.

The world is not a pleasant place, the world owes trans people better safety and human rights, it's a bare minimum and such a basic ask. And although Canada (where I'm from) has a very long way to go for protecting all trans people in a variety of situations (let's not forget our trans siblings who are homeless, those who are fighting the overdose crisis, those who aren't safe in their own homes and don't call authorities for help due to fear of violence and racism, those who are put through public and private conversion therapy camps, those who are not here with us today), I'm glad we live somewhere that has some kind of protections in place in the law that gives us a starting point to go off of. There are supportive people and places that make all the difference, and I hope you find or have those people and places in your life. You have a community member in me if you ever want validation or are looking for resources and I'm sure many active allies in this group.

Not everyone can share hashtags and photos today because of safety concerns or simply because they're nervous and not ready, but I'm encouraging you to mentally pat yourself on the back today and remember you are enough, what you're doing is enough, and that you are visible, valid, real and trans/nonbinary as heck no matter who notices it or not, no matter who believes you or not. Trans people have been around since the beginning of time and we will be here after that as well. You're not unnatural, you're not wrong, you're not a sin. I love you, I love how strong we are in the face of pain, I love how much love and empathy and beauty trans people carry within our hearts, I love how we show up for each other. Visibility and validation from others feels good and makes a difference but it starts from within as well, so I hope you see yourself today and everyday. 🏳️‍🌈
