Everyone always remembers the art. After all, you can draw anywhere as long as you have a scrap of paper and a pencil. Can’t exactly take your favourite chequered table to the front lines though. So no one really knew where Captain America’s foresight came from; his seemingly innate ability to see seven steps ahead of everyone else and act accordingly. It was just one of those mysteries of human nature.

That is, of course, until Steve spots a little table tucked inconspicuously in the corner of Stark Tower. He just can’t help himself.

‘You play?’ Stark asks him, eyebrow raised, mildly amused, and then challenges him to a quick game. Tony - in a way that Steve is sure many of the bigwigs and intellectuals of the world did - had dabbled in the art. Won a few completions, from what Steve had seen.

He beats Tony in 15 moves.
