ok so new btb episode was peak

as per usual ofc (AUUGH CESARE FLASHBACK ! FINALLY !!) but i wanted to briefly talk about caligari's design just a teensy bit

i just love how spider-like he is, especially in that one scene where in response to cesare going "no, but you said-" caligari darts forward in such a similar i've seen spiders do when hunting prey, a not-so-subtle threat

like he's just SUCH an imposing figure (which no one doubted he'd be) it's so fun seeing it portrayed in his sick ass design, being more detailed than the rest of the cast and allat.

it gives him such an otherworldly look i really really want to know what he is. very badly.

(also don't think i didnt notice the patterns on the walls pulsing in time with caligari's breaths what's going on there.)

Ok, so you know how the song "friends in low places" gives us a little insight on cesare's backstory? You know, about that one time he got stabbed to death or whatever? There's a part of the lyrics that caught my attention now that I watched the new bigtop burguer episode, that one part that goes:

"Face off with the faceless

I got friends in low places"

Yeah, i used to have two guesses about this part:

1- "the faceless" refers to other living dead people like him that he might know. People with identities, with faces, that weren't even missed or mourned

2- "the faceless" refers to all the cryptids he is instructed to go after, individuals with bizzare origins the average person isn't even aware of

The new episode gave me the possibilty of a third interpretation tho. "The faceless" might not be a term that refers to a group of people, but a term being used to refer to a single individual. I'm talking about Caligari of course, the only character that doesn't have a face in his design from what we've seen so far

Kinda cool that his character was foreshadowed in such a subtle way, right? Either that or i'm going nuts
