About RTAH

I see and respect what they’re trying to do with AH, bringing in new blood and making it feel more like a “rotating cast and guests” vibe but honestly it just doesn’t carry the same. All the new faces are so fun and funny, and I genuinely like them all very much! But it’s not AH anymore, and really the only part that sucks about that (because I think the new AH is still doing a pretty good job making content and all) is that we don’t totally have the luxury of going back and watching old AH stuff without having to hunt for… yuck-free episodes. That’s all! Peace and blessings!

About the unpopular RTAH opinion, im scared so ill say it in anon lol hated burnie for leaving cuz I think he got off scot free from the controversies even though he likely is a part of it and he also left with his (i believe multiple) teslas while people were underpaid. I dont care if hes a founding father.

I bet it’s NOT a safe space. Ryan was the funniest member of the team, and what he did was gross and fuck him but AH overreacted, and ever since then they’re just burning through shitty diversity hires, purging every heterosexual white male (Michael gets a pass because Lindsay is suddenly NB) and trying to put out “clean” content and it’s unwatchable dreck now.

Ryan was incredibly unfunny, I thought that before we knew about how much of a garbage human he is and I will think that until the day I die.

Actually, I do kinda wanna talk about RTAH seriously.

I have LOVED them so much and I have HATED them so much. I have defended them and I have criticized them.

They completely lost my trust at some point and that was when I stopped watching their content. I still sometimes engaged with it, because you can't help but check in on your old friends, no matter how much they hurt you.

I said I wanted to see RT crash and burn, and now that it's happening, it feels so very bittersweet, because I honestly stand by what I said, but seeing the people, who you've spent countless hours laughing with, cry... It hurts. It hurts seeing Geoff cry, it hurts seeing Barbara cry, it hurts seeing Jack be devastated etc...

I spent so many Mondays watching the RT Podcast, Wednesdays watching On The Spot and Fridays watching Off Topic, that I've lost count of how much time I've given them.. It never felt wasted, because you got to spend it with amazing people in the community, laughing and crying along with you. So it hurts deeply. I left them, but I loved them, and in some ways, I will always love them.

I have found my community elsewhere, but they were a part of my journey to find them and I will always be grateful for that
