The potential impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the job market, including the field of education, has been a subject of debate. While AI has the potential to automate certain tasks and processes, leading to job displacement in some sectors, the role of university teachers is complex and multifaceted, making it less susceptible to complete replacement by AI.
University teachers perform various responsibilities, such as delivering lectures, designing curriculum, facilitating discussions, providing feedback, mentoring students, and conducting research. These tasks require not only subject expertise but also interpersonal skills, critical thinking, creativity, and adaptability, which are currently challenging for AI to replicate.
Statistics regarding the potential job loss for university teachers to AI are limited due to the early stages of AI implementation in education. However, a study conducted by Oxford University researchers in 2013 estimated that there is only a 9% chance of computerization for postsecondary teachers, indicating a relatively low risk compared to other professions.
Moreover, AI technologies are being developed to assist and enhance rather than replace teachers. AI-powered tools can help automate administrative tasks, provide personalized learning experiences, and facilitate data analysis. This augmentation of existing roles can enable teachers to focus more on higher-order tasks that require human judgment and interaction.
In conclusion, while AI may impact certain aspects of teaching, university teachers are likely to remain indispensable due to the complex nature of their roles and the need for human qualities. The integration of AI is more likely to complement and support their work, leading to a transformation rather than complete job replacement.

The oscar-award movie Parasite has had an impact on how I see movies and the art behind them.
I have aways loved psychological movies such as The Platform, Circle and dystopias as well. In Parasite, we see the struggles of a lower class family as they try to get out of poverty. It was captivating, shocking and sentimental.
However, what I appreciated the most was reading hidden meanings and analysis of the film afterwards. Many people interpreted the meaning differently and found hidden composition techniques. For example, every time the poor family and the rich family are together in a scene, there is a line (a cabinet, a wall, a frame, etc.) that separates them as they are separated in society. This is one of many works that taught me movies aren't just about entertainment. They can portray a message and make you question yourself and the society we live in. I was confused, perplexed, and almost had an identity crisis after watching it! I have seen it many times and recommend it to people any chance I get. It is truly genius, and you need to watch it to understand the hype around it. Plus, it is the first korean movie to win an Oscar, so that's a plus!

I absolutely love this picture by Diane Arbus. She was different from other photographers, exploring taboo subjects and meeting "weird" people. This photo portrays the LGBTQ community at the time. The subject isn't posing, they are in their own world and in the middle of putting makeup on. This, in my opinion, truly portrays a lifestyle, similar to many advertisements and famous photographs at the time for makeup that only included women. It has shock-value, which is what made Diane the famous artist she is. It is also simple, she didn't over-exaggerate the pose, lighting or set. The model speaks for itself. You can tell that there is a story behind the photo, and people surely criticized it a lot. I believe that every lifestyle deserves exposure and to be understood, so I think this is beautiful and progressive at the same time. The vulnerability of the subject, the natural environment in which they stand and the impression that Diane was truly a part of the community all make this a great photo that is unforgettable.

This is a blurry photo of my best friend. It isn't very clear, and the lighting is dark. However, it depicts a good memory and we had a lot of fun that night. I didn't take it purposely for this weblog, in fact it was an accident as I tried to take a video! This makes it even better in my opinion.
For me personally, although I am interested in photography, my camera roll is filled with weird photos that don't seem "aesthetic". But, I could probably talk about the stories behind them for hours and laugh about them. I don't believe that smartphone cameras need to be the highest quality and capture amazing pictures. They are for me a way to capture unconventional memories, people that are important to me and funny things I find in the city. All of this to say, I probably wouldn't publish most of my pictures.

If I were a performance artist, I would take the abstract route. I love to draw and spend time on projects that people can interpret in their own way and have my own message behind it. I also love flowers, I have a big garden at home and I think nature is neglected nowadays.
Therefore, I would include these themes in my art, making big installations that interact with the natural elements. Off the top of my head, I could plant flowers that create an image when seen from above, criticizing social conflicts.
I am aware that usually, these projects are in desert areas where people can't easily access them. However, I would do that differently, putting them in populated areas so that people can see and reflect on the message behind them.
Another idea I have is including animals and insects. For example, installing bird houses or attracting butterflies could turn the art into a garden that can be visited by the public. As a kid, I loved the Coraline movie and here are pictures from it:
Even though it is an animated fantasy movie, I am fascinated by the imagery of the garden. I would definitely visit it if someone recreated it in real life!

I personally love land art that includes plants, it is truly impressive and the colors inspire me for our project.
These examples are beautiful to me, I feel like an important part of land art is nature itself. It differs from regular art on paper and on computer, and it is impressive as the materials are unpredictable. Since our project will be based around global warming and will be colorful with many different types of flowers, these examples are perfect.
I like industrial art installations, I think they send a different message and are modern. In my opinion, though, they don’t spark joy like flowers and greenery do. I have visited many big gardens where you could see installations that were meters high and I would spend so much time analyzing the structure. Those are always the most fascinating.

Spiral Jetty seems to be the most popular example of Land Art, and it is situated in the United States.
In my opinion, the artist wanted to explore our relationship with nature, creating and unnatural shape in a natural location. Land art in general seems to explore similar themes, which I wasn’t familiar with before actually looking it up. Maybe the artist also wanted to push himself, as it seems to be a demanding project and it is large.

I come from a family or artists. My grandma would come to visit us in Canada and we would sit outside for hours just to draw. I would sometimes cry because I was way too hard on myself, but she would always hype up my work and put it on her fridge back in Romania. My dad, who’s a professional photographer, would take me to parks and teach me how to use the camera. He also introduced me to softwares such as Lightroom and Photoshop, which led me to be interested in digital art.
Naturally, I am now passionate about art. Since I am unsure in what direction I want to go after cegep, I try to take classes that will expand my knowledge beyond just drawing. It is a no brainer for me that a language and arts class will be helpful and interesting. I hope to learn new things, get inspired by new artists and styles, and overall be enthusiastic about my future in the industry.
