Labyrinth (1986) Extended "Magic Dance" Sequence Clips

"This is the full length version of this song number, Dance Magic Dance. He's just got a very distinct style, David. In the final movie, during these sort of instrumental sections, you're not so much here with the goblins doing all these, shooting each other with slingshots and all this stuff.

All this fun little goblin action, which is great to see, instead became inter-cutting with Sarah trying to make her way through the Labyrinth. And I remember that was George, George Lucas, was doing this weird thing called non parallel editing on computers and none of us knew what the heck he was talking about because everybody knows you edit movie with film, and George had this other weird way of doing it, which of course now is the only way people edit.

But I remember George was doing some simultaneous edits that he was sending back and forth to my dad and saying 'Hey, what do you think of this? What do you think of that?' And I know this deep inter-cutting of Sarah going through The Labyrinth inter-cut with Jareth singing to Toby. That was definitely initiated by George. And I think was a good choice. I think that this is, as fun as it is, I think this is a very long sequence and probably... it was probably a good idea to inter-cut.”

It's been years since Sarah Williams bested Jareth in his Labyrinth. The only trouble is, she doesn't remember it at all. Instead, she's haunted nearly every night by strange dreams of dancing with a mysterious man in an eerily familiar ballroom. Who is he? Why does she seem to find him disturbingly beautiful? Sarah is determined to find out, damnit!

Follow the now adult Sarah as she embarks on the journey of returning to the Labyrinth, reconciling her feelings with Jareth, and facing the troublesome truth that following one's dreams is very rarely easy. The good news, though, is that it's often fun!
