Silly Game Time: Give us an icy cold take--a belief you hold that surely no one could disagree with.
The MLP comic which made it canon that Shining Armour is a dnd nerd is a masterpiece and no one can convince me otherwise. What is your cold take?

Silly Game Time: On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you like camping? This could be either actually doing it or the idea of it.
Probably a 4 as I like walking and going outside but I also have a fear of bugs. Conceptually, I love it. But practically, something always goes wrong. What about you? On a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you like camping?

Hi, I’m taking a break from social media for a bit so while I will continue doing art fight I’m not going to be on tumblr as much. That said, I appreciate everyone’s support so far and am very grateful for all the wonderful artists I have been able to meet through art fight this year. Best of luck!

i’m aware of how stupid this question might be but if the only thing missing from the attack is the guy’s shoes / feet, would it still be considered a halfbody, or a fullbody?
If the shoes / feet are missing on an attack, that does not mean it is no longer eligible for a fullbody. There must be at least 75% of a character shown to be rated as fullbody. See the guide below:

So gorgeous!!!!!
Next up is @soupsysoup’s Poisson Femme (also soupsysoup on Art Fight)
I decided to base this art piece off of the Cell Block Tango from Chicago because of the fishnet leggings which reminded me of the outfits for that music number. Here is the work:

And the reference:
(Yes it is from YouTube, how could you tell?)
youtube
Overall I’m pretty proud of my ability to capture the motion of the image. However, there are elements where I could have made the image more fluid and I will continue to work on my foreshortening skills. To make the design even closer to the outfits worn and to capture the motion of the arm in tandem with the leg, I added and additional top layer to Poisson Femme’s outfit and transferred her fins to be in place of hands at the end of the arm instead of keeping them closer to her head.
To improve this image further, I would add do line art in pen and ink it then add a few layers of colour in pencil crayon.
Soupysoup has many creative OCs and a very fun and funky style with lots of colour so make sure to give their work some love! I had a blast drawing Poisson Femme :DD

There is a video on YouTube that for the life of me I can’t remember where to find it because it was recommended by another channel but it was a manga artist (I’m pretty sure the video was in Japanese but I can’t remember for sure) explaining how to ink better and they mentioned that there are specific parts you user a thicker line for like the outline but I miss it dearly because I forgot where half the places are and now I want to find the video again.
#this is why I need to compile all the best manga and comic advice I’ve seen at some point#because otherwise I will forget#babe (the video) come back I miss you#at least Scott mccloud will hopefully have my back#pretty sure he has some stuff on inking in his books#but I cannot emphasize how much I think of this video and I can’t remember how to find it again#I miss it so much

My latest attack was for @re-vault who sent me an amazing revenge attack which I adore *sticks onto fridge*
(She is also Re_Vault on Art Fight)
This was for Dr Ambrose who is a morally dubious scientist working on government experiment. And of course, as someone who loves women’s rights but also their wrongs in fiction I had to draw her. So I immediately thought of the Shrek meme of “some of you may die” and drew her for that.

Some references:
And for a greater meme to drawing ratio:

I’m quite proud of the lineart as I tried to follow advice making certain areas have thicker lines to draw attention to them. To improve the work, I would practice more with my colour brush pens to make sure I can get a consistent colour for the skin, hair, and clothing, and wait a sufficient time for them to dry before adding the additional brush strokes to the hair. Overall, I tried some less familiar techniques for this work and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I hope I did Dr Ambrose justice.
Re_Vault has an excellent use of colour and shading with lots of fascinating characters in dynamic poses. Make sure to check her work out and give it some love!
