FINALLY SOMEONE WHO HAS NOTICED WHAT I DO.

The lighting and colour grading for Jack’s Back really bothered me on the version I have, I don’t know if the DVD is like that but the whole thing is hazy and desaturated and I wanted to try and fix it. Each scene and honestly even some individual shots are different though and have different needs so it’s really annoying to try and create a universal grade I can apply, I only want to marginally remaster it so it’s a little less annoying to watch (I am just doing it for myself) but I don’t want to get that involved??

But every time I try to - for lack of a better term - increase the contrast to make the blacks actually black it just gets washed out. I try to set the white balance but it’s fucking impossible because everything is muted there’s no baseline. If I get one right the other is suddenly off. That isn’t even touching the colours.

I do. Yeah, I slip it into a gif converter but I go out of my way to find HD content to make them with and record and trim and remove frames. Yeah, I don’t do it with Photoshop but I still made them myself. I made it, took the time to make them, (never only five minutes when I make 30+ of them) I’d like some credit. And I know people won’t and so, I put a watermark that does it for me.
