SHE  IS  BRAVE  IN  HER  APPROACH,   OF  COURSE    ---    the  fates  of  the  hero  course  students  are  depending  on  it.     with  great  trust  do  they  place  their  fragile  lives  upon  her  shoulders,   safe  in  the  fact  that  his  type  is  no  stranger  to  her   ;   this  inhibitor  of  unrest  so  commonly  seen  meandering  throughout  her  homeland  in  search  of  souls  or  vengeance  or  nice  candies.

and  it  is  thanks  to  a  puffed  chest,   a  lionheart,   and  the  omamori  tied  tight  around  her  finger  that  he  will   be  having  none  of  that  today.

if he truly entertained the WHY instead of the WHAT towards what he just did,  he wouldn’t have been able to provide a reasonable answer.    actions sometimes spoke louder than words and he was waiting for his actions to just be received as words failed him.    the only thing he could hope from this was that she didn’t assume he was mocking her.

his own assumption,  however, was proven false as she imitated his own abilities.    shouji stole a moment to look between her hands and then her,  only for a small snort to be sucked in before he chuckled.    his arms lowered,  one of his hands shifted into a mouth to speak.

“    perhaps the best imitation of me i’ve seen before.    ”

IT’S  EXQUISITE!    this  boy  of  such  talent,   brawny  arms  so  capable  in  so  many  ways   ;   he  is  truly  a  sight  to  behold,   and  one  that  she  does  not  at  all  mind  inspecting  further  in  both  growing  curiousness  and  overall  amazement.    

as  if  to  further  recognize  this  notion,   eyes  rival  the  moon  in  size  as  his  mouth  forms  words  where  a  hand  once  sat.    dare  she  even  stifle  a  delighted  little  giggle  behind  her  knuckle    ---    curiouser  and  curiouser.

    ❛    i’ve  never  seen  anyone  with  a  quirk  quite  like  yours  before.    it  is  truly  stupefying  in  its  uniqueness!    ❜    she’s  beaming,   she’s  fawning.    one  brazen  step  closer  and  she’s  up  on  her  tiptoes,   nary  a  difference  in  short  stature  as  she  peers  more  deeply  into  the  eyes  hidden  beneath  silver  locks.    ❛    your  wings  are  so  strong,   too!    are  they  practical?    can  they  fly?   OH!    would  you  like  to  join  my  flight  club?!    we  meet  on  saturday  evenings!    i  am  the  president!    ❜

CHASTIZATION  EXISTS  NOT  in  any  realm  wherein  girls  are  involved,   rendering  the  pleas  and  cries  of  her  fellow  female  classmate  absolutely  moot.    under  her  law,   komori  will  see  no  girl  left  behind   ;   the  reasoning  behind  curious  blinks,   lips  parted,   and  the  inquisitive  little  tilt  of  her  head  in  the  passing  silence.

then    ---    careful  in  approach,   fingers  splayed  in  their  outward  reach  to  she  who  worrywarts    ---    komori  proceeds  to  simply  pet  her  hair,   opposite  hand  coming  up  to  cup  the  soft  of  kotone’s  cheek  playfully  in  her  palm.

    ❛    kotone  -  chan    ...    ❜    rosy  hue  flushes  over  her  in  a  matter  most  entirely  overdramatic.

    ❛    ...    I  WOULD  BE  ABSOLUTELY  HONORED  TO  TUTOR  YOU!    to  be  the  hand  that  guides  someone  as  brilliant  and  beautiful  as  yourself  to  the  paradise  of  academic  success    ...    pardon  any  lascivious  implications  in  my  speech,   but  i  find  myself  positively  tickled  pink  by  the  very  thought!    WE  COULD  GET  MATCHING  STUDY  BINDERS,   DARE  I  SAY   ---    !    ❜

i’m probably gonna draw up a lil sketch of komori’s dorm room later but!   very briefly,  she keeps it pretty dimly lit with candles and fairy lights   ...   it’s very very tidy and there’s a big kotatsu in the middle where she eats all her meals  /  does her homework.   every sunday is mostly dedicated to napping under it!

I’M SO SORRY!   i completely forgot to ever write up komori’s actual background info,  so until i can,  here’s some highlights concerning upbringing  /  personal goals!

♡   she grew up in a well - off household in the YUUGAO FOREST!   she lives in a nice house that sits directly on the lake in the center of the forest with her mother and father.   all three of them are nocturnal;  komori and her dad are naturally because of the bat quirk,  while her mom actually forced her own sleep habits since her quirk only activates during waning crescent moons.   her family is very religious and very traditional.

♡    much of the forest is actually owned by her father,  who has had the land passed down to him from generations in his family.   komori has actually yet to explore most of the forest surrounding their home;  there are many regions of it that are believed to be ruled by spirits,  so their family is very respectful of this.

♡   adjacent to the forest lies YUUGAO MIDDLE SCHOOL,  a very private all - girls school with an itinerary catered specifically to those whose quirks render them nocturnal.   both the school and the forest are named not for the plants,  but for the young women they raise    —    moonflowers.

♡   komori’s father,  kokoromori hoshi,  is actually the president of the yuugao schoolboard.   because of his status,  komori lived a very comfortable life in this school and was,  for lack of a better trope,  immensely respected.   she was the natural leader of all her classes and her opinion was always valued and celebrated;  for a long time,  she seemed complacent with this lifestyle.   however,  it started dawning upon her in her third year of middle school that her leadership seemed a little lacking,  as it was comprised mostly of obligation rather than genuine belief in her abilities.   she did not like people following her because they had to;  she did not want groupies.   if she was going to lead,  she wanted it to be for her ideals,  not her status as yuugao princess.

♡   her father was pretty against her going to UA!   he had her whole life set out for her with hopes of having her inherit both his career path and his land,  so her being interested in a school hours and hours away in the most populated city in the country really gave him those good ol’ overprotective father heart palpitations.   it took a lot of debate to get him to trust her just enough.   komori assured him she would become a great hero,  and with a heavy push into forceful belief in her decision,  he reluctantly sent her away to the academy. 

♡   as is obvious,  komori did not get into the hero course.   between direct sunlight,  giant robots,  and an overall misuse of a quirk believed to be very practiced,  she landed a big fat fail in the physical entrance exam.   her written exam scores,  however,  were enough to get her  placed in the general education course    —    something that she saw as a great personal loss,  which was a concept very foreign to her.   failing step one was not only a blow to her pride but a major setback in her overall plan,  so when it came down to it,  her spite towards the hero course lie not in genuine belief that 1 - C deserved better as a whole,  but because she,  personally,  could not stand the rejection.   

this is why she not only fought for a leadership role amongst 1 - C but also vowed to make their class just as renowned as those of the hero course.   if she’s gonna be a benchwarmer,  she’s gonna be make it the strongest bench you ever saw,  so she’s working very hard to build the unity and trust between her and her classmates so that they stand taller as a whole (  despite the selfish intentions behind it  ).   with their mild support,  she will demand people see her and her classmates as equals and fully intends to bring justice to the imbalance between the courses. 

until she can land herself in the hero course,  that is.

        he’s not really sure what he wants to say,  or can say,  so he just lifts his arms up and spreads them so the webbing imitates a bat’s wings.

THIS  GENTLE  GESTURE  IS,    OF  COURSE,    just  about  the  very  last  thing  she  would  have  expected  from  a  stranger  of  his  grand  stature.    both  the  sound  and  visual  of  mock  -  wings  spreading  renders  her  all  but  kittenish  in  startlement   ;   shoulders  hike  to  chin  reflexively  before  the  nature  of  the  situation  can  dawn  upon  her,   and,   as  it  does,   that  defensive  recoil  melts  into  something  of  a  curious  stance.

and  so    ---    believing  this  to  be  some  sort  of  greeting  ritual,   be  it  as  it  may  one  far  from  her  general  knowledge    ---    she  proceeds  to  work  one  hand  into  a  yapping,  crab  -  claw  -  like  mouth  while  the  other  cinches  in  the  circular  formation  of  an  eye.    

she  sincerely  hopes  she’s  doing  this  right.

    ❛    —    MY  KIDS  are  simply  exemplifying  their  well  -  deserved  cachet  as  the  best  of  the  best,   as  is  their  absolute  right  to  do  so  in  the  circumstances  wherein  we  see  no  competition  worthy  of  even  the  most  minimal  of  our  efforts!    if  you  are  so  EASILY  and  NONSENSICALLY  threatened  by  this  fact  and  the  otherwise   ‘  swole  ’   heat  of  our   ‘  absolute 100  ’   prestige,   perhaps  it  is  you  who  needs  to  heavily  consider  EXITING  THE  COOKING  PREMISES!    ❜
