Fulham have failed to win any of their last five matches since beating Liverpool at Anfield and must win their remaining four fixtures to stay up.

Burnley were defeated by West Ham on Monday and while their Premier League status has all but been secured for another season, Sean Dyche’s side have the opportunity to seal Fulham’s fate with three points.

What is the team news?

Harrison Reed is a doubt for the hosts after picking up a knock. The midfielder trained on Friday and faces a late fitness test. Long-term absentee Tom Cairney remains out with a knee injury.

Robbie Brady and Kevin Long remain side-lined for the visitors but Dale Stevens could return from injury. Chris Wood is expected to be fit after being substituted late on against West Ham on Monday with a deal leg.

Fulham could be without midfielder Harrison Reed for the visit of Burnley on Monday, with the Cottagers needing to avoid defeat to keep alive their slim survival hopes.

Reed, who has been likened to manager Scott Parker for his role in the team, took part in light training for the first time since a knock and will need to be assessed over the weekend before a decision is made over his inclusion.

Captain Tom Cairney, who has not featured since December, is edging closer to a return and has been training with the team, although the manager admitted he was "nervous" over rushing back the 30-year-old.

The Clarets' 11-goal top scorer was withdrawn late on in Monday night's 2-1 defeat against West Ham with a dead leg but Sean Dyche confirmed the New Zealand striker will be fit to start at Craven Cottage.

Midfielder Dale Stephens is expected to be in contention despite a knock that might need treatment at some stage going forwards but winger Robbie Brady and defender Kevin Long remain on the sidelines.

Will Fulham’s fate be sealed?

Last weekend, Scott Parker’s men were beaten 2-0 at Stamford Bridge by West London rivals Chelsea.

This means the Cottagers are now winless in six Premier League games, amassing just on point in this time.

So, if Fulham were to lose this, the Championship play-off winners would be heading straight back down to the second-tier.

This would, in turn, secure Burnley’s survival.

The Clarets were last in action a week ago when West Ham came from behind to win 2-1 at Turf Moor.

However, a week earlier, Sean Dyche’s side pretty much assured their top-flight status by beating Wolves 4-0 at Molineux; Chris Wood with a hat-trick in that one.

This means Burnley are ten points above their hosts and a win here would send Fulham down and secure a sixth successive season of top-flight football at Turf Moor.

Will the visitors be too strong at Craven Cottage?

Prediction: Fulham 1-2 Burnley Fulham have won eight of their last nine home league games against Burnley.

However, they’ve currently scored just nine league goals at home so far this season and no club in English top-flight history has ever failed to reach double figures in terms of home goals.

He is the seventh British fighter to travel across the Atlantic and try to take down Canelo, who dominated Callum Smith in the run-up to Christmas to unify the WBA and WBC belts before producing an easy third-round stoppage of mandatory challenger Avni Yildirim in February.

Rocky Fielding, Liam Smith, Amir Khan, Ryan Rhodes and Matthew Hatton are the other Britons to be previously brushed aside by the dominant Mexican pound-for-pound king, whose only career loss to date came as a 23-year-old against the legendary Floyd Mayweather Jr in 2013.

The 2021 NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Championship Tournament begins with 16 college hockey teams squaring off in the regional stage at venues in Bridgeport, Connecticut; Fargo, North Dakota; Loveland, Colorado and Albany, New York starting on Friday, March 26 (3/26/2021).

Since 2015, Atlantic Hockey teams have won four of their five opening games, including three victories over the overall No. 1 seed. The Yellow Jackets enter the tournament with the best winning percentage in the field at .833 (15-3-0) and the longest winning streak (seven games).

UND hockey fans probably know at least one thing about American International.

The Yellow Jackets were the team that pulled the stunning upset of No. 1 St. Cloud State in the first round of the 2019 NCAA hockey tournament in Fargo's Scheels Arena.

Other than that, American International is an unfamiliar opponent, one of nine Division-I programs that UND has never played in program history.

The Fighting Hawks will take on American International at 8:30 p.m. Friday in Scheels Arena -- the same place the Yellow Jackets pulled that upset two years ago -- in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Seven of the 19 skaters who played in that game for American International are expected to be in the lineup -- forwards Chris Dodero, Tobias Fladeby, Justin Cole, Luka Maver and Elijah Barriga, as well as defensemen Brennan Kapcheck and Jeff Baum. Kapcheck scored the game-winning goal.

Five more current American International players were on the roster in 2018-19, but didn't dress in that game -- forwards Chris Theodore and Matus Spodniak, defensemen Parker Revering and Oskar Stromberg, and goalie Stefano Durante.

As the No. 16 seed, AIC has the toughest road to the Frozen Four, starting off with top-seeded North Dakota. The Fargo regional looks especially challenging, with Michigan and two-time defending national champion Minnesota Duluth also in the mix.

American International enters the NCAA tournament the way it did in 2019, and the way all but one Atlantic Hockey team has since the league’s inception in 2003 – on a winning streak. With the exception of Niagara in 2013, it’s been only the winner of the conference tournament that has made the NCAA tournament.

That’s fine with AIC coach Eric Lang, whose Yellow Jackets face off against top-seeded North Dakota.

“I think there’s something to playing your way in,” said Lang. “To do that, you have to show resilience. You’re going to be battled tested for this tournament, because here, you’re one and out.”

The Yellow Jackets showed plenty of resilience in the Atlantic Hockey tournament. Prior to its semifinal game against Niagara, AIC had gone a stretch of 49 days without playing due to various COVID protocols, which included Bentley having to bow out of a quarterfinal series against Lang’s team on short notice.

AIC had to come from behind to win against Niagara in the semis, and again against Canisius in the championship game.

“I was worried (about the layoff) but not really worried,” said Lang. “We had great practices, intense practices. And the layoff gave us a chance to watch a lot of video on ourselves and learn a lot about ourselves.”

In 2019, AIC upset top-seeded St. Cloud in Fargo, 2-1, thanks to a 33-save performance by Zackarias Skog. Eight current Yellow Jackets saw action in that game, while current starting goaltender Stefano Durante watched from the bench.

AIC will need a stellar performance from Durante against the Fighting Hawks.

“He’s always prepared,” said Lang. “He’s not physically imposing but he’s a winner. He’s won every place he’s been. He’s got a confidence about him that gives our whole group confidence.”

AIC will need that against an imposing Fight Hawks team playing close to home.

“I ruined my Sunday watching (video of) them”, said Lang. “North Dakota is a great, great team.”

It might have been different for AIC had St. Lawrence not had to pull out of the tournament. The Yellow Jackets would probably have been the No. 15 seed, and headed to nearby Albany to face off against Boston College.

But instead, it’s North Dakota in Fargo.

“We’re going to go wherever they tell us to go and put our best foot forward,” said Lang. “People on that committee work hard and do a deeper dive than we have and I respect that. There are no easy games this time of the year.”

One advantage – the Yellow Jackets will be able to play in front of some fans at Scheels Arena, most likely around 1,500 based on current occupancy rules.

“That will matter to our players and I think they deserve it,” said Lang. “There won’t be a lot of people screaming for AIC, but they’ll get to hear applause, boos, everything. It’s really exciting.”

It marks just the second time the Fighting Hawks have carried the No. 1 overall seed into the tournament in the 16-team era (since 2002-03). In 2004, UND beat Holy Cross 3-0 before falling to Denver in the region final.

UND coach Brad Berry said his team briefly touched on the recent history of upsets in the tournament, but the Fighting Hawks didn't dwell on it.

"We did it at the selection show, we talked a little bit about it the next day," Berry said. "We've progressed to the point where we've turned the page on that and we're focusing on our team. We really respect the team we're playing against. There's a balance there as far as putting pressure on yourselves and looking in the past. It's duly noted, but I think it's a situation now where we have to focus on ourselves here and make sure that we don't get inundated with the past history and just try to create the future by doing the things we need to do."

So, what does UND need to do?

If recent history is any indication, getting off to a fast start and scoring the first goal of the game is key. The numbers show it:

A. The Fighting Hawks 18-0 when scoring the game's opening goal this season.

B. The first goal of the game has often dictated the result with Atlantic Hockey teams like American International in the NCAA tournament. Since 2010, Atlantic Hockey teams are 6-1 when scoring first, 0-10 when allowing the first goal in the NCAAs. The lone outlier was UND's 2-1 victory over Niagara in 2013, when Andrew MacWilliam and Danny Kristo scored in the third period to rally UND to victory.

In all three 16-over-1 upsets, the No. 16 seed scored first and kept shots relatively even early in the game.

In 2015, when RIT knocked off Minnesota State-Mankato 2-1, shots on goal were just 10-8 Mavericks in the opening period and RIT built a 1-0 lead. The Mavericks outshot the Tigers 16-5 in the third period, but it was too little, too late.

In 2018, when Air Force knocked off St. Cloud State 4-1, shots on goal were 10-8 Huskies in the opening period. The Falcons scored twice early in the second period to take the lead for good.

In 2019, when American International beat St. Cloud State 2-1, shots on goal were 6-6 after one period and the Yellow Jackets led 1-0. The Huskies pressed late and outshot American International 15-3 in the third, but again, it was too little, too late.

"We take the game in five-minute increments," American International coach Eric Lang said. "We've got four five-minute periods there in the first. We obviously want to get off to a good start, no self-inflicted wounds. You don't want to be turning pucks over early against these guys. Obviously, staying out of the penalty box is something that's really important to us.

"It's two-fold. You can't ease into this thing, either, not against this team. We'll have to have a push ready. The game has to go a certain way here. We will have a good plan here tomorrow."

For the Fighting Hawks, the game plan is simple.

Appalachian State staged the biggest rally of the night to take a second half lead after trailing by 19 in the first half. But the Mountaineers ultimately fell short in the end, losing 54-53 to Norfolk State. The Mountaineers made just 6-of-36 attempts from 3-point range in the loss as Norfolk State advanced to play No. 1 overall seed Gonzaga in a first-round game on Saturday.

No. 16 seed Texas Southern and No. 11 seed Drake each advanced out of the First Four by holding on after their own big comebacks. Drake's 53-52 win over Wichita State was particularly dramatic as the Bulldogs survived to win when Alterique Gilbert's last-second 3-point attempt fell short at the buzzer for Wichita State.

Now there’s a new sense of urgency about safety at the NCAA tournament. A new sense of why all those rules are there, all those signs, all those security guards, no matter who grouses about them.

At 10 o’clock Saturday night, there was an emptiness at Indiana Farmers Coliseum where a basketball game should have been. It was supposed to be No. 7 seed Oregon vs. No. 10 VCU, the last game of the first round. Looked like a good one, but we’ll never know.

What we know is that sometime in the past few days the positive tests started coming back for the traveling party of the VCU Rams and they didn’t stop until there was nothing left to do but tell them it was time to quit before they ever started. It is one of the most unfortunate messages ever given to a team in the NCAA tournament.

“Heartbroken,” was the word used by Ed McLaughlin, director of athletics, in a release. Here was another one. “Devastated.” And here was coach Mike Rhoades: “Life isn’t always fair, but it’s about how you deal with it and move forward.”

So what happened, after five days in the bubble? Did they bring the virus with them on the bus when they came from Dayton and the Atlantic 10 championship game loss to St. Bonaventure? Lots of people apparently at that hotel lobby in Dayton. Nobody knows for sure. Whoever knows for sure about COVID?

"We've been tested every day for the past three weeks,” Rhoades said. “But within the past 48 hours we've received multiple positive tests.”

This is a shock, but then again it isn’t. The NCAA has long had this exact situation on its list of things to plan for but hope they never happened. That’s why all the work went into the replacement team policy. That’s why the endless pages of risk mitigation proposals and policies. But Oregon now advances in a way no team ever has, not in 82 NCAA tournaments. To have gotten away clean with no such event as this would have been great, everyone agreed.

But what everyone also knew was that bad things could happen. A bad thing just did.

So VCU’s season ends the way it began. The Rams’ first two games were canceled. So were two more in December. There were four postponements in January and three more in February — many of them because of the opponent’s virus issues. They never had the prolonged pauses that so many teams endured. They came to Indianapolis having played 26 games; all in all, not bad for 2021. But now they’re in the record book in a way no team would ever want.

The pandemic has bitten VCU before. The Rams were on the Barclays Center court in Brooklyn on March 12 of 2020, minutes from tipoff in the Atlantic 10 tournament against Massachusetts, when word came that the tournament had been shut down.

Rhoades ended up walking back to the hotel with UMass coach Matt McCall at the exact time they should have been competing against one another; a surreal moment on a surreal day. It seems like the world has traveled light years since then, and college basketball with it. But COVID is still here. And this was a lot worse than being pulled off the court of a conference tournament.

Dan Gavitt, the NCAA vice president for basketball, has told anyone who would listen for months that his cherished goal was to get all 67 games played in this tournament. Now he’ll have to settle for 66, and just hope it stops there. That’s all anyone can do in the age of COVID. Hope, and make sure you’re doing it in a mask.

In the night's first game, Texas Southern advanced to play No. 1 seed Michigan on Saturday by virtue of a 60-52 win over Mount St. Mary's after the Tigers trailed 30-20 at halftime. The win is the first-ever NCAA Tournament coaching victory for third-year Texas Southern coach Johnny Jones, an industry veteran who was previously in the Big Dance as coach of North Texas and LSU.

Round 1 at the 2021 NCAA Tournament was filled with upsets and the typical madness that is March, including a surprising no-contest, the reigning national champion getting knocked off in an upset and several of the top-seeded teams getting good scares or eliminated altogether.

As the field takes shape with an even 32 teams entering Round 2, we should be in for quite a treat. No. 1 seeds Illinois and Baylor will kick off second-round action in consecutive games on CBS on Sunday afternoon. Also on deck is an OSU vs. OSU matchup (Oregon State vs. Oklahoma State), cinderella-hopeful Oral Roberts taking on Florida and a pair of 3 seeds in West Virginia and Arkansas drawing tough matchups stylistically with Syracuse and Texas Tech, respectively.

Entering this year’s unprecedented COVID-19 NCAA Tournament, at least one virus cancelation seemed to inevitably loom over the field of 64. On Saturday evening, that feared first cancelation hit.

Tonight’s matchup between N0. 7 seed Oregon and No. 10 seed VCU has been ruled a no-contest due to COVID-19 protocols. With the virus issues occurring on the Rams’ side of things, the Ducks will move on to the round of 32.

In an official statement released by the NCAA on Twitter, the league explained that the decision was made in consultation with the Marion County Public Health Department. Details about the scale of the potential outbreak were not divulged due to “privacy issues.”

“The NCAA and the committee regret that VCU’s student-athletes and coaching staff will not be able to play in a tournament in which they earned the right to participate,” the league wrote.

You have to feel for this VCU team that fought its way to a second place finish in the Atlantic 10 conference and earned its first NCAA Tournament bid since 2018-19 — just to be booted without getting a chance to even attempt an upset.

With the forfeited “win” over the Rams, Oregon now extends the PAC-12’s perfect round of 64 record to 5-0.

Tom Izzo felt Joshua Langford gave him everything he had.

And it appears Michigan State basketball’s three-time captain ended his career early Friday morning with the Spartans’ 86-80 NCAA tournament loss to UCLA.

A fifth-year senior, Langford could return for the 2021-22 season and not count against MSU’s limit of 13 scholarships. Both he and Izzo hinted earlier this month the native of Huntsville, Alabama, was at least pondering that option.

Though he could change his mind, the 24-year-old seemed to be at peace and set in his decision to move on with his future.

“It's my last college basketball game for Michigan State,” Langford said, “so that's tough.”

He did not elaborate if his next step will be to pursue professional basketball opportunities, transfer to another college or end his playing career.

Three years to the day of his last NCAA appearance, against Syracuse in 2018, Langford scored 12 points — including 10 in the second half and overtime after injuring his ankle — on 5-for-8 shooting. The 6-foot-6 guard grabbed seven rebounds, handed out four assists and blocked a shot in 36 minutes against the Bruins.

Langford is a former McDonald’s All-American and five-star recruit who was part of Izzo’s vaunted 2016 recruiting haul (along with Miles Bridges, Cassius Winston and Nick Ward). He suffered a stress reaction in his left foot Dec. 29, 2018 against Northern Illinois that ended his sophomore season and required surgery. Langford attempted to return in the summer of 2019, but a similar injury in a different part of the same foot necessitated a second surgery in December 2019 that ended his season before he could play.

After a first day of spectacular upsets, the second day of first-round matchups in the men's NCAA Tournament delivered more madness.

Bracket-busting and Cinderella runs were brewing but ultimately put to rest in the early set of games, as Kansas staved off No. 14 Eastern Washington's upset bid despite trailing at halftime and Florida State shook off a late rally by No. 13 seed UNC Greensboro. Then later in the day Creighton barely evaded an upset by escaping UC Santa Barbara by one point.

Major upsets finally materialized in the later games with No. 13 seed Ohio sending the reigning national champion Virginia Cavaliers home and No. 14 Abilene Christian clipping No. 3 Texas.

The big news of the day was the first-round game between No. 7 seed Oregon and No. 10 seed Virginia Commonwealth being called off three hours before it was to begin because of COVID-19 concerns. Spring Football Storylines: What to Watch For in Miami’s 2021 Spring Practices

Spring football is just days away for the Oklahoma Sooners. With the return of football on the way, Sooners Wire takes a look at each position group ahead of camp. This time we journey into the trenches with the offensive tackles.

Last season Oklahoma deployed the tackle duo of Adrian Ealy and Erik Swenson. After one game, Ealy and Swenson swapped sides putting the former at the right tackle spot. Offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh will have a talented new left tackle as his starter when the season rolls around. Wayna Morris joins the Sooners after transferring from the University of Tennessee along with defensive back Key Lawrence and running back Eric Gray. Morris started 17 games over the first two years for the Vols at left tackle.

Wilkins returns to the team after opting out of the 2020 season. In 2019 he played in four games in a reserve role.

A season ago, Swenson became the starter at left tackle for 10 games and right tackle for just one. His performance against the Florida Gators in the Cotton Bowl Classic, Swenson earned a spot on the AP’s All-Bowl team. Now Swenson looks to lock down the right tackle position with the addition of Morris at left tackle.

Anton Harrison played 333 snaps at left tackle, much like the move for Swenson, Morris is forcing him to move to right tackle. This will be a battle to watch in the spring. Which tackle comes out on top and is named the starter for 2021? Sooners Wire gives Swenson the slight edge due to his starting experience.

Boston College conducted its first spring football practice Saturday morning and the Eagles are already excited about how it’s all going to end.

The ACC network announced on Thursday that it intends to broadcast nine of the league’s spring football games. BC’s annual Jay McGillis Memorial Spring Game at Alumni Stadium made the cut and will be aired April 24 at a time to be determined.

BC canceled the final 10 practice sessions and the intrasquad Maroon & Gold match last year when the campus shut down in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The coach said he was so focused on getting the spring operation up and running that he’s hasn’t drawn up a format for the game. One of the scoring gimmicks from previous games was to award extra points for touchdowns scored from outside the red zone or the other side of midfield while allowing the key return men to switch sides on special teams.

On Monday the Oklahoma Sooners will take to the practice field for the first spring practice. Lincoln Riley is looking to get back to the College Football Playoffs after a one-year hiatus in 2020. The team lost back-to-back games to open conference play that took the train off the tracks. The team was able to get back on track but the damage was done for the CFP resume. Is this year’s team the best squad to finally get that elusive CFP semifinal victory?

Recently College Football News ranked all 130 teams in college football ahead of spring football. The Sooners lead the charge once again in the Big 12 Conference with two other conference teams joining the mix inside the top 15. Only the Clemson Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide find themselves listed above the Sooners.

This might just be Lincoln Riley’s best team yet. The passing game should be unstoppable with QB Spencer Rattler getting to work with a receiving corps that could be the best in college football. Oh, by the way, the defense is going to be special again, too.

The return of Kennedy Brooks and the addition of Eric Gray will help solidify the backfield along with Seth McGowan. They will be key weapons for Spencer Rattler, who is going into his second-straight season as the starter at quarterback. The emergence of Marvin Mims and a healthy Austin Stogner to go with the bevy of wide receivers should make the offense one to watch yet again.

The defense returns the top pass rusher according to Pro Football Focus in Nik Bonitto. Isaiah Thomas will take over the role of edge rusher vacated by the departing Ronnie Perkins. Oklahoma Sooners Snapshot Profile: No. 22 Jeremiah Criddell

The 2021 ACC Spring football game schedule has been announced, and nine of the 14 games will be televised live by the ACC Network.

Spring football game action in the ACC kicks off on Saturday, March 27 with Duke’s annual Spring Showcase. The game is set for 10:00am ET and it will be televised by the ACC Network.

The following week on Saturday, April 3, the Clemson Tigers will hold their annual Orange & White Spring Game and it will be televised by the ACC Network at 1:00pm ET.

Other ACC Spring games set to air on the ACC Network include NC State and Florida State on Saturday, April 10, Miami and Pitt on Saturday, April 17, Georgia Tech on Friday, April 23, and Boston College and North Carolina on Saturday, April 24.

Spring Game dates for Syracuse, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest have not been announced yet. Louisville will not hold a spring game this year.

Fans of the Crimson Tide are excited for this edition of athletes taking the field, as Nick Saban and the program look to repeat as national champions. With 15 practice sessions – including the A-Day Game – the staff writers for Touchdown Alabama Magazine will provide in-depth previews on marquee players.

He was a household name at Mater Dei High School, leading the Monarchs to a state championship in 2018 and the state championship game in 2019.

The 6-foot, 194-pounder brings athleticism, accuracy, and playmaking abilities to the quarterback room.

According to Keith Miller, a coach in California who scouted out Young in the eighth grade, he expects the sophomore to take the reins as the Tide’s starting quarterback. During a segment on In My Own Words, Miller told yours truly that Young is a ‘unique’ player at the position. He compared the former five-star to Johnny Manziel and Russell Wilson and said Young will do ‘special things.’

Young rushed for 26 touchdowns in high school, and he has an uncanny ability to extend plays. He can operate off-script and did receive some in-game experience last year. Those opportunities will make him better in spring practice; however, Young also has areas he needs to improve in. First off, he must add muscle to his frame. Tagovailoa was the same height as Young when he arrived in 2017, but his body was thicker. A combination of being short and small will not transition to success in the SEC.

And yeah, his school's mascot is a Great Dane. In FCS, they also have the Blue Hens, Governors, Sycamores, Racers, Lumberjacks, Delta Devils and Fighting Camels. The players who proudly wear those names and colors -- not to mention those woodchips, pitchforks and furry humps -- have worked just as hard to play as the stars you know from the College Football Playoff. They've also been forced to employ more patience than players from those big-time programs because they've had to sit and wait until the spring. Some left, but most stayed. Why? Because they love it. And we should love them for it.

While the 2021 Golden Globes and Academy Awards have been postponed due to COVID-19, music’s biggest night, the Grammy Awards, were still a-go for their originally scheduled date. With an increase in the amount of music that was released during the pandemic, it was decided that the 63rd annual Grammys would not be delayed. Then, as COVID cases increased in Los Angeles, where the Grammys were to be held, the Recording Academy had to rethink that decision. Variety confirmed Jan. 5 that the award show has been postponed.

The decision was made based on health and travel concerns, sources told Variety.

Originally, the show would go on as planned, in part because of the abundance of music released throughout the quarantine. “The amount of music released has actually increased during the pandemic, so we would not want to delay our date with so much great music coming out,” the Recording Academy’s Interim President and CEO Harvey Mason Jr. told Variety in June. “I also think it’s important and helpful to have shows like this, when there’s been so much uncertainty and unrest—to have something you know is coming around every year and to know there’s a time when we all sit down together and watch great entertainment and art.”

In September, Mason teased to Variety, that the upcoming ceremony is “going to be a spectacular show.” “Obviously, this is a very unique year. We’ve been looking at all of the shows really closely and I’ve been talking with some of the people who put them together—the creative and also the business side,” he said. “I think there have been some great examples of how to present music and awards at these shows, and I think there’s some other things that we’re gonna do pretty differently.”

Sunday’s Grammy Awards telecast is set to open with a performance by Harry Styles, who is nominated for three awards on music’s biggest night.

“You don’t want to miss the top of the show,” Jack Sussman, CBS’ executive VP of specials, music and live events, tells Variety. “It’s going to be music coming at you heavy and hard like you’ve not seen it before. We’ve got Harry Styles, this incredible entertainer, at the top of the show and we’ll just keep coming at you.”

The hope is that the burst of a rousing kick-off to the three and a half hour ceremony will soothe an audience that has been starved for live shows for a year and be a moment of renewal for the artists themselves.

Styles is a contender for best pop solo performance for “Watermelon Sugar,” best pop vocal album for “Fine Line” and best music video for “Adore You.” On the heels of several hit singles, his latest album has sold 2.5 million units since its release in December 2019, according to Alpha Data, moving more than 20,000 just last week, a gain of 11%.

For his maiden voyage as Grammycast executive producer, Ben Winston has been working with artists for months to develop a show that is extremely ambitious in scope and production needs. The cameras will move around from live performances spaces created inside the Los Angeles Convention Center to an outdoor open-air tent in the plaza of L.A. Live. Some performances will also be taped.

Says Sussman, a 20-year veteran of the Grammy Awards from the TV broadcast side: “We wanted to do it right for the artists. It’s been a tough year. This is a moment in time for these artists to get out on stage and connect with fans who have been starving for these kinds of moments. We have a wonderful group of diverse musical talent — some of the best live performers on the planet.”

Sussman is bracing for seismic activity in downtown L.A. when K-pop sensations BTS take the stage. He wouldn’t give any hints about plans for their performance other than to say that fans won’t be disappointed.

“It will be what you really love and want to see BTS do,” Sussman hints. “They’re going to have fun and engage the audience at home. They’ll get you up on your feet in your living room.”

Naturally, the pandemic conditions of the past 12 months had a big impact on planning for every aspect of this year’s show. Sussman, who has steered Grammy moments for two decades, adds that he’d never seen less stress in getting talent on board for the show.

“It’s been easier to deal with artists because they know the boat that we’re in,” he says. “Everybody’s trying to row in the same direction.”

A new element to the presentation this year is a series of short films shot by filmmaker Gibson Hazard for each of the record of the year nominees. The films are designed to tell the stories behind the songs and the backstory of artists who might not be as familiar to viewers. Sussman cites the Black Pumas, nominated for “Colors,” as an act that just a few years ago was busking with that tune on Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade.

Doja Cat, nominated for “Say So,” is another example of an “unbelievably talented” newcomer, Sussman offers. The films aim to “provide some context around these nominees so you have some sense of who they are before they walk on stage.”

Winston and his team had the misfortune of taking over an enormous production (after two years of apprenticeship under longtime Grammy executive producer Ken Ehrlich) in extraordinary pandemic circumstances that required much of the show to be reinvented. But in hindsight, the timing of the handover from Ehrlich to Winston was opportune.

Winston “is coming in with a new way of looking at everything,” says Sussman. “He doesn’t have experiential blinders on because ‘that’s the way we’ve always done it.'”

First-time Grammy host Trevor Noah, moonlighting from Comedy Central’s “Daily Show,” also brings a freshness to the telecast. “He’s amped up, he can’t wait to get out there,” Sussman says. “He’s the perfect host for the Grammys in 2021.”

As always, Sussman is consumed in the days before the big night about all the things that have to go right in order for the team to pull off 210 minutes of live musical spectacles.

“For the viewer at home, this isn’t going to be a remote Zoom telecast,” he emphasizes. “You’re going to be as entertained as if you were watching it at the Staples with 14,000 other fans.”

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Zeb Noland threw two touchdown passes and three-time defending FCS champion North Dakota State rebounded from an upset last week to blank Missouri State 25-0 on Saturday.

The Bison (3-1, 2-1 Missouri Valley Football Conference) had their FCS-record 39-game win streak snapped by Southern Illinois in a 38-14 loss last week but jumped out to a 25-0 halftime lead over the Bears (1-4, 1-1) and rode their defense to the victory. The Bison had seven sacks, three by Spencer Waege, and held the Bears to 63 yards on the ground and 221 total.

Noland completed 10 of 15 passes with touchdown throws of 7 yards to Noah Gindorff and 81 to Braylon Henderson, who got behind the defense to make the deep reception and cruise into the end zone for his first career score.

The Bison spent most of their time on the ground with 272 yards. Jalen Bussey led the way with 90 yards, including a 53-yard score in which he slipped through the line and went virtually untouched down the left side.

North Dakota State's historic winning streak came to an unexpected and abrupt end on Feb. 27 with a loss to Southern Illinois. Lest one think the 38-14 defeat against the Salukis marked the end of the Bison's FCS dominance, the reigning national champions rebounded with a 25-0 rout of Missouri State.

The WCC Conference Championship stretches from March 4th through 9th with games played at the Orleans Arena in Paradise, Nevada. The tournament will include 10 teams, who will play single-elimination games with no reseeding, but gives a triple-bye to the top two teams, a double-bye to the third and fourth teams, and a single bye to the fifth and sixth teams.

Most of the coverage for the WCC tournament games will span across the ESPN broadcast platforms. Game 5 is set for ESPNU, while Game 6 and Semifinal 2 are set for ESPN2. Semifinal 1, set to feature Gonzaga, will air on ESPN, as will the championship game.

The 2021 Horizon League tournament is right around the corner as teams position themselves for the best possible chance at earning the conference’s automatic bid. Twelve teams will go for a shot at the NCAA Basketball Tournament.

The 2020 version was one of the tournaments that started and finished. The Northern Kentucky Norse finished on top in a championship game against the UIC Flames, but the NCAA Tournament was canceled due to COVID-19.

How can I watch the Horizon Tournament?

All opening round and quarterfinal games until the Final will take place on ESPN+, with one semifinals on ESPNU on March 8th at 6:30 p.m., and the other on ESPN2 at 9:30 p.m. The championship game will be broadcast on ESPN2 or ESPNU, and all games can be streamed via the WatchESPN app with a cable or streaming service login. If you don’t have a cable login to access the ESPN app, you can get a free trial from YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, AT&T TV, FuboTV, or Sling TV to stream it.

A year ago, Oakland had defeated Cleveland State by a score of 80-59 in the Horizon League Tournament opening round. Now, these two teams are playing for the opportunity to receive the automatic bid from the Horizon League to compete in the NCAA Tournament.

The NEC Conference Championship stretches from March 6th to March 9th, with games on the home floors of the higher seeds. The championship game will be hosted by the highest remaining seed remaining. The tournament will include four teams, who will play single-elimination games with no reseeding.

The NEC semifinals take place Saturday, March 6 and will air on NEC Front Row and on ESPN3. The championship game will air on ESPN2 on Tuesday, March 9.

The Wagner Seahawks are the top seed following a 13-5 conference season. The second seeded Bryant Bulldogs are viewed better in the analytics. Bryant ranks No. 184 in the KenPom rankings and No. 130 in the NET Rankings from the NCAA, while Wagner ranks 209 and 153 in the two rankings, respectively.

The Summit Conference Championship stretches from March 6-9, with all games played at The Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The tournament will include eight teams, who will play single-elimination games with no reseeding, with Denver the only team from the league not to qualify.

All games will be broadcast on both local syndicator MidCo Sports as well as ESPN+, until the Final when ESPN2 takes over as the only outlet.

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits enter as the top seed, with a 9-3 record in the league and a 15-6 overall mark. SDSU currently is No. 117 in the KenPom rankings, and at No. 122 in the NET Rankings from the NCAA. They’re followed by their rival South Dakota Coyotes, who were 11-4 in the league and 13-10 overall. USD is No. 182 in KenPom, and No. 181 in NET. No matter what happens, this is a one-bid league for the NCAA Tournament.
