Perfecting Content with Attention to Visuals
There were many interesting videos to choose from when regarding the list of expert sessions, but the one that intrigued me the most was a video by Matt Siltala titled “How to make the best content in the world”. To start off his speech, Matt begins his discussion by talking a little bit about himself which relates to the topics that he talks about further into the video because one of the things he says is that he is a photographer. Being a photographer, Matt explains that he believes visuals make the best content in the world which I agree with, but not entirely. There are many things that work together to make the best content in the world, but I can see where he is coming from if he were to say that it is one of the best contributors to the best content. I only say visuals aren’t entirely because some people aren’t even intrigued by visuals, sometimes the words in content or sounds are more likely to intrigue other certain people. Moving further into the video, Matt goes into detail on how to think further than just an infographic when it comes to content, and I fully agree with this statement and the way he goes about it. He first approves an infographic, then adds on an infogram which he explains is basically like a motion graphic with one statistic and a call to action on it, then he delivers it to three social media platforms. This is a good idea to me because it’s more than just a boring picture to look at and adding to three social media platforms can reach as many people as possible. An example of good content that is brought up in the video is a line by Reebok which is called be more human. The content that has this message by reebok features some excellent camera photography relating to a simple call to action to be more human. I agree with the statement that this is a good piece of content. It’s straight to the point, but at the same time it leaves it up to the consumers with how to interpret this message, so it leaves them thinking about it. Overall, this was a very informative video that gave me ideas on what to do with my own personal projects in the future. I enjoyed it and fully recommend it to others.
