Should we do a poll for January 2013?

Schedules and 2013
EDIT: I'm terribly sorry, but I didn't realize when I press publish it won't show the person who submitted this post. Haha, sorry guys! Whoever sent it, please send me your email so I can add you to the group and you can post without having someone to review and publish what you wanted to share with the group :)
Sorry for not really being active, but November and December were impossibly busy, so perhaps it is a good idea to have more than a month for a book. Normally I read really fast, but what with a full-time job and an MBA going on, I have no time for anything. I have wanted to be in a book club for a long time, but it seems like nobody is organizing any here in Bulgaria. So I say we give it another go in 2013 and see what happens. I am also thinking that if there are more people who live here we could have meetings from time to time. I would be excited to meet up with people and talk about books and what not.

I saw that 1Q84 is now available in Bulgarian. Has anyone read it? Does anyone want to read it with me?

I just saw the last message on here about the book for December. I don't know how I've missed it, but I have and I apologize.
I haven't really posted anything about December because I've been quite busy but mainly because there was so little turnout last month. I know of only one person who read the book and I just thought people weren't interested any more.
Do you guys want to keep this book club going in 2013? I think if we do we should set some rules about choosing a theme/book and some sort of a timeline. I'm totally open for suggestions because I'm not sure what we're doing now is working.
If one month is too short to finish a book, just let me know and we can choose one every other month. If it's hard to find and buy a particular one or it takes a long time, perhaps we can choose much in advance (I know I've had an issue with that).
Really, share your thoughts and ideas. It's our book club, not mine. And even if I skip a month for being too busy or whatever reason you should totally keep on going :)
So, anything?

Are we going to choose a new book for December or has it already been chosen?

rospergs replied to your post: Just checking in and sharing a concern
I didn’t expect this book to be like this, really. The first 100 pages or so looked to me like a horror movie splashed in paper: not scary at all, just bloody. Not what I was seeking.
Yeah, my thoughts exactly. And mind you, I get scared quite easily, lol. I'm surprised it has such good reviews on Goodreads. Hopefully it gets better.
Have you finished it?

Just checking in and sharing a concern
Hey guys!
I'm currently on page 77 and just wanted to warn you that there is a lot of violence and quite graphic descriptions. I would completely understand if you  want to skip this book and in fact I recommend that you do so if you are younger.
I'm definitely hoping we choose a brighter theme for next month! :)
How's it going with you guys?

Looks like we have a tie
Between Afraid by Jack Killborn and The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafron.
I've put up a new poll with just these two books, so please vote once again for your favorite.
p.s. If someone has a better idea how to choose books in the future, please share :)

rospergs reblogged your post: conversenikki answered your question: Book...
I love Stephen King, so if we’re going that way I would recomend “It”, “The Stand”, “Needful Things” and “Dreamcatcher”. I have found, though, that I don’t find Stephen King scary at all! Maybe that’s just me ‘cause I’m weird like that and they have lo let me truly shaking. Really scary from my point of view? “L’Evangile Selon Satan” (original title) by Patrick Graham. Sad enough, it looks like it has not been edited in english, just in french, spanish and german. I’m sorry? I have already read all these books, but since I’m really shy and I’m not that good writing/talking in english even if I can read it and I can see I’m not going to really discuss the books, please feel free to choise (but I’m going to read them, even if I don’t discuss them).
I’m going to add “Afraid” by Jack Killborn, “Patient Zero” by Jonathan Manberry, “Sleepless” by Charlie Huston and “Mr. Shivers” by Robert Jackson Bennett. They are some of my horror books “to read”, so I can’t say if they’re good or not. That’s it. Now we can have a huge poll.
What are you talking about - your English is awesome!! To be honest, one of the reasons for me to make this book club was to interact more with people, make new friends and step out of my comfort zone, because I too am shy when it comes to talking to strangers. So I can totally relate to what you're saying and I hope you join the discussions, so we can challenge ourselves together :)
As for the books, I think it will be better if we suggest books we haven't read. This way it will be interesting for everyone. Besides, we'll still have a few choices, so even though we choose only one book, we can still go ahead and read more if we wanted to and had time. What do you guys think?
I'm assuming we all know English here, but I guess I could be wrong? I personally will be getting the books in my native language (Bulgarian) if they are available and if not - I will be ordering them in English. Is that what you guys are planing to do as well? Shall we choose only books that have come out in English? Please, let me know what you think.
p.s. Please, send me your email so I can add you to the group and you can post directly on here :) xo That last part is for everyone who hasn't already done so :)

Last day to submit your book suggestion for November!
Hey guys, just wanted to remind you that you can suggest a book to read next by the end of the day. I'll put up a poll tomorrow, so we can vote over the weekend and have a chosen book by Monday. I hope that will give us enough time to find and purchase/borrow the book.
So please, leave your book suggestion for the theme Spooky. Thanks :)

conversenikki answered your question: Book suggestions for November Theme: Spooky
don’t normally ready spooky books, but i’ve heard that stephen king’s novels are scary
I don't either. In fact I get scared so easily, haha. But I thought it would be nice to step out of my comfort zone and read something different :)
Stephen King sounds awesome! But any book in particular?
