An American singer/songwriter born to Cuban parents, Izy Volta has been sharing his love for music since 2006. His performances span the globe – from the greater Miami area to Tel Aviv, Israel. Volta draws inspiration from great soul singers and today’s singer/songwriters. This translates into his ability of drawing one in and capturing them with his thick voice and thoughtful lyrics; there is a sincere genuineness in his music that is hard to ignore. Currently, he has begun work on his first studio album, “The Good Fight EP.”

So excited! My debut record, The Good Fight EP, is now available for pre-order on Bandcamp for just $5! Out 05/03/2013! Preorder here: http://izyvolta.bandcamp.com/album/the-good-fight-ep You can either order the CD, which comes with a signed poster and digital download for FREE (will ship May 3rd), or you can purchase the digital copy of the album, which will include the album artwork & lyrics. Once you’ve pre-ordered, you will recieve an email on Friday, May 3rd letting you know that the album is ready for download. But why is the pre-order so important? First, every pre-order of this record through Bandcamp (or any sale through them in general) is reported to SoundScan, the defacto sales reporting tool for the music industry in the U.S., Canada, Japan and the U.K. Having my sales counted by SoundScan legitimizes my project and makes me a more viable candidate for a record deal down the line. Being that the record industry is in flux right now, record labels are looking to protect their investments by signing people who know how to manage themselves and show the drive to make it on their own. Second, the funds gained from this pre-release and any sale thereafter will help me pay for things necessary for the successful launch of my music career. To be frank, every red cent earned from the sale of my record, merchandise and performances will go right back into this project. I have to buy merchandise, gear, pay musicians, book rehearsal and event spaces, etc. Also, when this project matures enough, I can hopefully quit my day job and do this full-time.
