Hey there fellow link clickers! (i love our fandom name, haha!) I'm currently writing a LC fic, yet also dealing with a bout of insanely annoying writer's block that goes on and off and is slightly driving me crazy - (see this post) - so that's fun, haha! It's probably gonna end up taking me a good while to finish T-T.

BUT!

Okay so I recently showed Link Click to my cousin and she brought up an interesting idea:

What if Lu Guang was the reason Cheng Xiaoshi's parents left/died and that was the only way for Cheng Xiaoshi to continue living.

So basically Cheng Xiaoshi's parents had to die or go missing in order for him to continue living.

Ofc I noticed some things wrong with it such as where could Lu Guang have gotten a photo with himself in it from that long ago.* And we don't know if that was the reason Cheng Xiaoshi died. Like idk if the reason was that far back in his childhood or if it has to be some recent event or smth.

Anyway I highly think the photo is from a time before they met because Lu Guang says he'll "go back to the beginning and save you". Although I'm not sure what photo Lu Guang would have...OH probably just one of himself Cheng Xiaoshi doesn't have to be in the photo.

I am gonna note that Lu Guang looked pretty sentimentally at the photo so maybe Cheng Xiaoshi was on it.

Anyway these were just my thoughts, so thanks for reading.

*my bad I was thinking that Cheng Xiaoshi had to be in the photo so I guess this theory is plausible although pretty unlikely.

I think CXS died right before the first episode of season 1 and the first episode, Emma, is the start of the time that CXS is supposed to be dead.

CXS actually died because he got on the boat, so LG saw this coming and did the picture thing to save him and then when CXS got shot in the train tunnels LG thought "this is it the death node can't be changed" but then CXS survived.

NONONO THIS MAKES SENSE BECAUSE OF THE PASSWORD THING THAT MEANS HE WENT BACK TO THE BEGINNING BEFORE HE MET CXS AND THEN HE RELIVED HIS LIFE THERE.

Okay so basically I think that was LG lore and CXS didn't die in the tunnel and LG is referencing the first time he went for the dive and tried to save CXS but maybe he recalled it because CXS could've died then.

And maybe the siblings and QJ and everyone were a new thing to the timeline so that's why LG didn't actually know what to do and thought CXS would die there.

Lu Guang will go back in time to try to save Cheng Xiaoshi, he'll break his rules in order to do it but also he'll try because he's seen that changing the death node is possible (Like with CXS and Emma).
