if there’s one thing i hate the most about the last of us season 2 is that jesse and ellie’s friendship is just… absent. their relationship feels so preachy and undertoned with sexism.

in the game the two are equals who clearly care for each-other and would do anything for each other and in the show jesse acts like he’s so much better than ellie and talks to her like she’s some stupid kid. it can’t help but remind of the way misogynistic men talk to women in general. it’s like every scene he’s in he’s mansplaining morality to her, when in the game he was much more understanding of her grief and only split off after she decided to go after abby instead of tommy. and then he was nice again, and they had banter! wtf happened??? in the show they literally just argue

game jesse understands ellie’s feelings of grief and anger towards abby but acknowledges that dina’s health is the priority. show jesse is just a high and mighty asshole who shows no care when talking to a grief ridden ellie
