I experimented with outsider art which involved more chaotic art such as covering the face with bright paint and using symbols such as eyes and lines.

Development

I decided to photoshop various eye paintings on to a picture of a woman i found online to paint from. I also decided to paint this portrait in black and white to show the emotionless silhouette. I also submitted this piece to a gallery and made it to the finals!

I enjoyed painting this, because i think it shows the loss of identity. This portrait has multiple eyes and uses little to no realistic skin tones.

I decided to use this artist to create this outcome because i enjoyed the destruction of the silhouette, as well as the textured backgrounds. I also enjoyed how unrealistic his face is, with many eyes and unnatural skin tones.

Emilio was the first artist that i looked at during my A-Level Art, and i started with this piece as i think it effectively shows social anxiety. with the detailed staring eyes.

Skeleton Piece

I painted my skeleton with oil paint, and then went around it with a contrasting blue paint to create more depth in my work. I then decided to add various oil pastel eyes to make my work look more chaotic.

I created this piece to show the effects of mental illness. This piece is the glorification of suicide, due to the persons illness. This is represented by the skull wrapped around her head, which shows that it is always on her mind.

I created this piece with the illness depression in mind, This represents the withdrawal from society because of their illness. I made this piece look really chaotic by doing extra scribbling with oil pastel and graphite around her face and hands.

I created this destructed portrait by creating a face, then sketching some rough faces on the upper forehead. I did this to represent illnesses such as bipolar, where one feels they are different people, or when their mood drastically changes.

Development

Painted on the back of a large canvas, with destructed portraits covered by acrylic paint to represent loss. I also carved through the canvas and added eyes and words to show the reality of illness.

Eye painting on a stool

This piece suggests the anxiety which has attached itself to various objects, and triggers. I wanted this to show the social anxiety represented in schools buy adding various eyes to make it seem like the stool is staring back at you.

Development on a clock

This piece shows the effect of the past on individuals with mental disorders. I wanted this piece to suggest the past trauma that those have endured that still affect them to this day. I showed this by adding various quotes suggesting time and eyes.

Development inspired by MoonLumps

A chaotic piece, with a few detailed eyes to represent social anxiety. The chaos contrasting with the realism is effective as it shows how people may seem fine on the outside, but the chaos suggests the anger and dust ration that they truly feel.
