Sometimes, I canāt sleep at night knowing that when I wake itāll be another day where Iāll be living without you.Ā
Your absence is the abyss I never anticipated coming. Youāre gone and it still doesnāt feel real. 3 years and ~1 month and it hasnāt gotten any easier. Iām constantly on the verge of breaking down and just folding and itās strictly because youāre not here.
V said your favorite holiday was Valentineās Day.Ā We both know thatās probably just something you made her believe lol we both know Halloween was your shit, K. Either way - thatās the reason youāre weighing heavily on me today. I didnāt have time to process it yesterday but today it hurts more than ever. I see your children and my heart begins to ache terribly. It hurts so much to know that 2 little girls wonāt ever get to know the most incredible person to ever grace this planet was their father. Their loss makes mine cut even deeper.
Some days are easier than others, however, that massive hole in my existence, that vacancy in my universe never gets any smaller. I see your face every day but not in the way that I want to. I see you and hear you in my dreams but when Iām awake I am faced with the harsh reality that we wonāt be creating anymore new memories of you.Ā
Lifeās not fair. Iāve always known that.Ā Itās always been extremely difficult for me. The salmon swimming upstream theory applies completely and yet no task life has presented has ever been more arduous than having the face the aftermath of that fateful Sunday morning.
I need you here to guide me. You always gave me strength, especially during my most vulnerable moments. The times where it felt like nothing was going right, I still always had you to lean on. I knew I could just come home in time for that 9pm or 930pm tip off, tune in, and watch poetry in motion. Nothing else mattered when you had that Spalding in your hands. You could never do any wrong in my eyes - and you still canāt. You were my best friend, my big brother, my mentor, my father figure, my shining light. I absolutely will never be the same without you.Ā
But I also know that you have taught me so much in our 24 years together that I will be able to summon the strength and courage to proceed and... āstay the course.āĀ

Another pass at it.
Here I am, 3 months later.
Started to feel the same thing. Got lost... āthe ultimate balancing actā
At least part of the detour involved diving deep nose and nuts first into the market. Retirement lookin extremely better today than it did 6 months ago. So thatās a major dub.
Trying this no Vids thing.Ā Weāll see how it goes. And if it achieves what Iām aiming for.
