10 minutes?!

Jin is moving before his mind can catch up. He's not even properly dressed, but he couldn't be arsed to give a damn. Shirt, no shirt, who the hell cared?

His mug just about shatters on the counter when he throws it down to race outside. Gathering winds send the leaves of his home tree into a frenzy of whispers and currents of air eddy at his heels and wrists. Then Jin is lifting off, his door thrown open by an impatient gust.

Ten minutes feel like hours, every second marked by the frenzied drumming of Jin's heart. When the bluff does come into view, his eyes lock on the oh so familiar figure running up from the other side. No sooner does he see him stop does Jin hear his name called out, and it's so sweet a sound as any that had ever graced his ears. Only sweeter after so long without it.

"Touya!" he calls back, coming to a clumsy landing in the long grass. He stumbles, catches himself with his hands but never stops moving. After a couple steps on all fours to get to standing again, Jin's running full tilt until he's crossed the remaining distance. He feels wild and undone, and now that he can see the glacial blue of his old friend's eyes again, his composure is all but a distant memory. It's lucky some part of his sense remains to keep him from damn near running Touya down. With help from a summoned counter wind, Jin slows and takes a final couple steps before coming to rest just a few impossibly short feet away from the ice master.

"Yer- yer really here."

My boys!! They're finally done! Forgive me while I fall over after working on this steadily for two weeks! Yusuke's B Squad deserves more appreciation and screen time. They are a joy and delight. Just boys being silly! I'd like to think that after the end of the series, they just get together and muck around just like this. That they are happy and enjoying life and freedom.
