Summary: Zack Lee brings home an old friend after 3 years of them missing

Johan Seong and Y/N L/N, a pair of troublemakers if you ask me.

The two were friends since they were- well since they were born, their mothers were friends you see

They were inseparable, you can never see one of them without the other.

While one of them never got in trouble, the other was an absolute prankster, often concocting pranks, the usual victim? Zack Lee, or Johan's bullies.

"Johan! Johan! look what I got us!!" Y/N yelled, running towards the shy boy, two cones of ice cream being held by her hands.

It was a hot summer day. Mira and Zack were at their swimming lessons while Y/N and Johan hung out at the park.

She grinned, giving Johan the cone, the two of them "clinking" it together before eating.

"What do you want to be when you grow up Jo? I want to be a doctor one day" She hummed as they both looked at the clouds above

"I never thought about it yet, maybe I'll be a doctor with you" he grins

Y/N looks at him with a smile, pulling out her pinky "is that a promise?"

Johan nods, "promise"

"Good, we might as well spend our whole lives together yeah?" Finishing her ice cream, she noticed how there were some that melted on her fingers

Johan nods "ofco-" he was cut off as he got his face wiped with cream and Y/N running away.

Completely flabbergasted, he sat there processing what just happened before standing up and running after the girl.

Though she had a headstart, Johan was fast, quickly catching up to her and tackling her to the ground.

Laughs emanated from the two as Johan was wiping his ice cream cheek on hers

"Aaaa!! Stop!! You're so gross!!"

"You started it!!"

They were really a cute pair, you'd think nothing would separate them

those happy moments were years ago.

Y/N was now 18, 3 years.

It's been 3 years since she had last seen Johan

3 years since that dog cult incident.

3 long gruesome years of looking for him

She had never felt so alone and had never realized how lonely she was until he disappeared. The first few weeks were a mess, she couldn't sleep, couldn't eat.

Worry was eating her out for her friend.

Zack and Mira would often visit her as they too know how it feels to lose a friend like this, the three grew closer because of this.

She now goes to J-high along with Zack and Mira.

Meeting new people like Daniel, Zoe, and Jay. Vasco and Jace were an interesting bunch as well

They were fun to be around if she were honest, but the void inside her chest was yet to be filled.

She was now walking towards Zack's apartment, a box of medicine kits in her bag.

It's been like this for a while, where she would patch Zack up after a fight, him pleading to not tell Mira what he was up to. Even though he never told Y/N what he was truly up to, Y/N never really questioned it.

It was one of those days again, she got a call from him saying he might need her to patch him up, so that's what she plans to do.

Unlocking Zack's apartment with the spare key he gave, she placed her kit on the table, looking around if Zack was home now.

Seeing as the apartment was empty, she assumed he was still fighting whoever he was fighting.

But what piqued her curiosity was two dog bowls in the kitchen. Did Zack recently get a dog?

Now she heard it, a couple dogs barking inside a room. Inside Zack's room.

"Dude, you got dogs?" Y/N asked, knocking before opening the doors where two white dogs ran past her. But the room was empty

She then turned around to see the two dogs sitting and staring at her. The white one which was rather bigger seemed familiar, though she can't exactly pinpoint where she saw it.

They were surprisingly friendly, they were on the fence for a moment but quickly warmed up to her. She smiled as she sat on the couch and the dogs joined her. The three of them patiently waiting for Zack.

Minutes turned into hours until they had finally heard the click from the door, the dogs jumping off and barking to alert Y/N that someone was home

Standing up, she groaned and stretched. "Finally you're home! Let's see the dama-"

There, he stood. Holding a surprisingly not so beaten up Zack, though he was unconscious.

But he wasn't, he too looked busted, but Y/N can still recognize those messy brown hair.

The two of them just stared at each other. Not knowing what to do. He looked as surprised as she did.

"Johan...?" She finally had the courage

to ask, pleading that this wasn't a dream, that this wasn't a cruel fantasy.

Johan only nodded, looking down feeling a bit ashamed at how he looked in front of her. He sets down Zack on the couch without a word.

"He's fine.. he didn't get anything serious" Johan mumbled before turning around as if leaving the place already

Was- was that all he had to say? After all these years of her thinking, he might have been dead? No hello? How are you? I missed you?

Y/N's eyebrows scrunched as she grabbed his wrist before he could grab the doorknob. "Johan."

Johan flinched a bit before slowly looking back at her. "..Y/N" he mumbled, her name sounding like honey pouring out of his mouth.

Y/N glared at him, tears threatening to pour down her eyes. He only looked at her with sorrow, unable to say anything in front of his closest friend, his first love.

"You- you- you disappear for 3 years and all you have to tell me is that Zack is okay before attempting to disappear again?" She asks, holding the sleeves of his jacket as if trying to tell him to not leave

Johan looks away, "you would have been disappointed in me, in what I have become.." he glares at the floor as if he was disgusted with himself. With what he had to do in order to get what he needed and yet in the end failed. He felt like a failure, Never wanting to go home knowing what they would have thought of him.

A disappointment.

Y/N shook her head as she wrapped her arms around his torso, burying her face on his chest. Soft sniffles can be heard as his shirt gets soaked in tears. "I'm not disappointed, I was mad, it was as if I was a stranger to you"

She looked up at him, her lips quivering as tears continued to spill "I was so worried, day and night I wanted to know what you were doing if you were eating well, if- if-" she couldn't even finish speaking as she started hiccuping.

Johan immediately wrapped his arms around her, knowing that when Y/N started hiccuping, she was panicking. He rubbed soft circles around her back as she continued sobbing, saying "I missed you" and "I was so worried" over and over again as Johan would keep replying with "I know" "I'm sorry" "I missed you too" not realizing that he too was crying as well.

He never realized how much he missed this, how much he missed her. His home.

Johan, having second doubts was hesitating to ask

"You aren't mad at me for leaving..?" He asks once the two of them had both calmed down.

Y/N shook her head, smiling a bit. "I'm just glad you're okay"

And that was it for him, for him to stay. Maybe for a while. For her.

Extra:

"Okay if you both are done recreating a soap opera on my damn Kitchen can I get my doctor back?" Zack whines, completely cockblocking the two from kissing

If he and Mira haven't kissed yet then so can't Y/N and Johan >:((

Y/N grumbled, wiping her eyes as she lets go of Johan. Walking towards Zack and slapping his head.

"OW!! THE FUCK WAS THAT FOR?" Zack barks

"For not telling me you found him dipshit!!" She glares at him as she grabs a bottle of alcohol to disinfect his wounds

Johan just smiles at this interaction, it makes him feel like he was 13 again, not a care in the world with his friends.

"Jo come here so I can patch you up too!" Y/N pats the empty space of the couch with a grin

Johan nods "yes doc" he teases, suddenly remembering how Y/N wanted to be a doctor before, frowning a bit for not fulfilling that promise of them together

"Shut up, once you're healed, you'll be my nurse whenever Zack gets his ass handed to him, deal?" She asks with a smirk, as Zack scoffs.

Johan only laughs a bit. "Deal."
