World concept that isn't really a concept:

I can just kinda do whatever I want, huh? I can write about whatever makes me happy and not worry about whether or not it makes sense.

In the spirit of this, I've decided I'm gonna start writing a world here. If you wanna jump in, you can, but up to you! I'm just going to be throwing things I like at a wall and sticking them all together with blu-tak.

Humanity left earth because there was a nuclear disaster and radiation was too bad

Because of radiation and mutations and whatnot, there are vampires now. And maybe werewolves. And maybe wizards or something too? I haven't decided yet.

Naturally, to protect the remaining shards of humanity, we now have space vampire hunters which kill vampires in new and space-themed ways. Like bullets (sort of a stake to the heart), and lead knives (not exactly silver, but lead stops radiation. You get the concept), and sunlight not filtered through an atmosphere because that kills everyone.

Also, everything is brutalist, because I like brutalism.

Oh and the vampire hunters are currently having a civil war because they can't decide whether or not they should isolate the vampires, or just genocide them.

And, just for fun, all of this still takes place in the solar system. No FTL here.

And that's it! I'll try to flesh this concept out when I have more ideas. Space brutalist vampire hunters.

Oh and obviously they can’t strike their nemesis down with lightning or anything because storms don’t work like that and also. Again. The growth cycles. So they just have to fistfight their arch-nemesis in a parking lot until it starts raining again

Their evil arch-nemesis has the exact same power, but keeps trying to make it sunny and nice out and they have to fight because that’s gonna screw up agricultural cycles and it’s unsustainable

Fun fact, you actually can’t fight burnout by “trying harder.” Sorry I died again.

Anyways, here’s sort of a look behind the scenes at an attempt I’ve been making to redesign the V’trassi Armada Starship. I was never happy with how it looked like a warhammer ship, but I was really happy with its folding wings.

The final design is probably going to be closer to what I have on the post-it notes, but I’m going to change the wings to unfold forwards rather than sideways. I’ll send a picture of what I mean when I render it.

(Un)Official Blueprint: Alliance Starfighter

All right, this isn't a very polished image but here we go! This is an Alliance starfighter (one of the Unstable Stars factions, might ramble about them later).

The Alliance is known for its smooth, circular ships with blocky weapons protruding from them. This ship, their classic starfighter, is unique for having some of the toughest shielding on any basic-model starfighter in the galaxy. However, due to its small reactor, this means that its weapons and propulsion systems are often underpowered for anything more escalated than a small dogfight.

Okay. I’ve been getting into Star Wars stuff lately, and I had an idea.

Summary: lightsaber high heels. Like normal high heels, but a lightsaber blade extends along the heel and flicks out.

Is this unrealistic? Is this unreasonable? I know it’s impractical, and it wouldn’t be a main weapon, but I want more thoughts. Concept art under the cut.
