1. cersei being annoyed at the fact that her dad died because she has to keep wearing black even though it makes her look washed out 

2. tyrion randomly & implausibly becomes an acrobat & does a backflip off a wall in front of a drunk 15 year old 

3. jaime, moments after committing high treason by murdering the literal king, arranging himself dramatically on the throne so anyone who enters the room sees him lounging smugly above aerys’ dead body 

4. when lord farman didn’t pay taxes or whatever & all tywin did was send a lute over & have the rains of castamere played… say what you will about him but the bitch knows how to get results

5. another cersei one but. torching the tower of the hand? fuck it UP cersei you wild bitch

Hey what do you think of Book Jon Snow?

It’s hard to separate what I think of book Jon, show Jon, and his often insufferable fan base. I could sometimes do with fewer chapters from his POV (they’re good but I’ve never waited eagerly for them like I do Sansa, Jaime, Cersei, ACoK-ASoS Tyrion, any Dornish POV, etc) and I don’t agree with how the likes of Catelyn and Sansa (like… what did she even do to him?) are painted as villains to create false narratives about a horrifically abusive life Jon never had. I suppose the fan interpretation of his story is what annoys me the most.

But I like him. Book Jon is clever, brave and good. He’s not this one note idiot, who gets everything handed to him and constantly complains about not wanting it, never facing real consequences. He has a personality beyond brooding and is far more complex than this flavourless hero cliché of the last few seasons. And I love how as much as he strives to be honorable and fulfill his oaths, he secretly covets all the things he thinks he can never have. He wants Winterfell, he wants to lead the North, he wants a family of his own, he wants to be remembered as much of a son of Ned Stark as Robb. And the fact that a desire for something so natural fills him with shame only makes it that much sadder and sweeter.

So while I don’t see him as the flaw free hero, saviour of the world and most unwittingly special to ever grace a page- as he’s sometimes made out- he is a good person. Book Jon would never sit back to be made a spineless tool for another’s ambitions, used solely as a mouthpiece for their side. He wouldn’t open his mouth to actually defend the massacre of hundreds of thousands of innocents. He would never need to be convinced of stopping someone who just burned a city to ashes. He would never have spent a season being utterly complicit in a genocide, even as those he loved most warned him, just because “Muh QUEEN”. Even if the broad strokes of the story are the same, GRRM is never going to deliver his Jon like this or render him quite so humiliatingly ineffectual and without integrity in his own story. TWOW can’t come fast enough.
