Final Reflection:

Overall, this project has been kind of all over the place (in a good way).

I learned a lot about how I design, and how to design in a team environment. With a project this big, figuring out how to divvy up work effectively was challenging and didn't always work.

I think that time management and learning when to scrap ideas and cut unnecessary work was the biggest lesson I learned. There's quite a lot of work that we did that didn't end up making it into the video, so re-focusing on what matters for the final product is something I need to do in the future.

This was also our first time properly using Figma, and there are now things I know that I would do differently for the next project.

I think the final product, however, came out really well. From feedback we received about the design (from the video and in the process), the features we created are features that people would actually want to use. This is something we are both proud of because it means we designed something worthwhile and useable.

In conclusion, this project has been a big learning experience that I gained a lot out of for my future design career.

Component Library

Final Component Library layout. These are all of the final design systems used in the music app.

We created a lot of iconography that we didn't use, so we had to go back and scrap a lot of it. We also cleaned up our colour palette because we didn't use any of the success / negative / attention colours from the palette.

Component Library is the final thing to do for the video. We wanted the timing and text to fit to a good time before doing the component libraries.

Final Timings and Expanded Boxes

We put in expanded boxes for every section of the video to keep it consistent and so that a viewer will have an easier time following along with the flow.

To be consistent with the circle highlights, we added a border around the highlighted rectangle/box

I felt that, to be consistent with the rest of the video, and to give emphasis on the function, we needed to include a box highlight like the circle.

The Intro felt too fast and too short, depending on where it was at.

I decided to cut out and merge some text, and to adjust the pace to make it feel more fluid.

This is the first draft of the full video with a rough layout of how it will look.

Currently, it is quite long and needs to be cut down. I want feedback from Rio to help me understand what should be cut.
