VanGaal or Mourinho?
Tumblr media
Hey guys, I hope you all are doing well. Today, I will be talking about topic I saw on the internet recently, which confused me a bit. As you all know, I am a die-hard Manchester United fan (Up Red Devils!!!!!!) and this season has not started the way I thought it would. Entering this season, I imagined us beating every team we faced and topping the English Premier league but due to some errors in management (Ed Woodward) we are kind of struggling and it needs to stop.
I was scrolling through one of the Man United blogs, and I saw a post on it saying, “Jose Mourinho is a big disgrace to Manchester United and to football fans, we should have kept Louis Van Gaal instead of sacking him”.  Personally, I am not happy with Jose Mourinho, but he has done more for us than Louis Van Gaal could ever do. Mourinho is one of the best things that happened to us since the great Sir Alex Ferguson retired from football. He has taken us back to competing for the Premier League and the Champions League. I am going to discuss the two managers and giving you guys facts that prove Jose Mourinho reign is better than Van Gaal’s.
Let’s talk about their winning percentage. Jose Mourinho surpassed Sir Alex Ferguson last week as the manager with the highest win percentage for Manchester United. Mourinho has a win percent of 60.31% (win percentage is the division of the wins divided by the total number of matches i.e. percentage of the division of the wins over the wins plus draws plus losses). This simply means he has the best winning return over the previous managers we had.  Van Gaal has a win percent of 52.43%, that is even less than that of David Moyes who was considered the worst Manchester United manager in recent times. Mourinho has overseen over 131 games so far and he has the same number of loses as Van Gaal had in 103 games. In Mourinho’s first season at the club, we scored 54 goals and conceded 29 goals. In Van Gaal’s first season, we scored 62 goals (which is not bad) but we conceded 37 goals; being attacking minded team, it is always better to score more goals and play interesting football, but the defensive end must be solid too, which is what Mourinho achieved. By the second season, under Mourinho we scored an impressive 68 goals while only conceding 28 goals, winning David De Gea the golden glove trophy. During Van Gaal’s second season, we reduced the number of goals we scored, from 62 to 49 goals and conceded 35 goals. The attack and defense by the second season depreciated, and that was when United let him go. The whole point of this is to show you guys that Van Gaal was a big calamity for us and he did not perform on the pitch the way Mourinho has for us.
Let’s talk about trophies and league standings. In Louis Van Gaal’s first season, we did not win any trophies, but he took us to the fourth position, and we qualified for the champions league after missing out on the tournament the year before. By his second season, we crashed out of the champions in the group stage, finishing third and ended up playing in the Europa League. We lost in the round of 16 of the tournaments which ended our European competition for the year. In the Premier League, we finished in 5th position and missed out on Champions League football for the coming season. The only positive of that season was that we won the Fa cup after a long time. In Mourinho’s first season, he was playing in the Europa League thanks to his predecessor, and he won the tournament, making us eligible to play in the next season’s Champions League. He also won the Community Shield and the Barclay’s Carling Cup, but we finished in 6th position that season, which was very bad. His next season, we lost out in the round of 16 of the Champions League which was a very low point for Man United fans, but he took us to 2nd place in the Premier League, which was our highest position reached since Sir Alex left us. Mourinho has won 3 trophies for us and taken us to our highest place on the table in over 5 years while Van Gaal won just the Fa cup and took us back to the Europa League after tasting Champions League football in his second season. Based on trophies and achievements, it is obvious that Mourinho is the better manager after comparing the two years they spent in charge of Manchester United and it was a wise decision to sack Van Gaal when the board did.
I will be talking about their respective transfer window activities. During Van Gaal’s spell as the manager, he signed 13 players to Manchester United across 4 transfer windows. He signed Angel di Maria, Anthony Martial, Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw, Radamel Falcao, Memphis Depay, Sergio Romero, Marcos Rojo and a few others. I want to personally thank him for Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial. Those three have been very good signings for us during the past few years and they are still playing well for us. The rest of them could not find their feet at Manchester United, di Maria was one of the hottest players when he was in Real Madrid, and when he came here he fumbled big time and was sold the next season. Jose Mourinho has signed 10 players so far, and he too has made some errors in judgement when selecting players, but most of the players he bought are playing very well for us. Eric Baily is our best center back, Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic have been solid for us in the midfield along with Fred. If we can get the three of them playing together, our midfield is going to be very strong. Romelu Lukaku is one of the best strikers in today’s game and he is already proving himself to be a formidable striker for us. Mourinho was able to develop Jesse Lingard into a proper footballer. Lingard was one of our best players last season, he saved us on so many occasions and he is now a top player.  The two coaches did not make the best of signings, but the player Mourinho brought to United are only going to flourish and improve our squad.
With the facts I just presented to you in conjunction with all the other points I have made, I think it is obvious that Jose Mourinho is by far a better manager for Manchester United than Louis Van Gaal ever was. The distance between them is very clear and should not be debated again.
I hope you people having doubts about the two can now see and understand how to argue with others regarding this. Enjoy the post and give a me feedback; I will like to know what you guys think on the topic.Below are the websites you could check to confirm the statements i made.

Who would you pick? The Manager who is making us look like a shitty club or a player whose ego is way too much. They should either make up or get out https://www.instagram.com/p/BoPLmXlDXHa/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1d17lskxbxrd5

WHO WOULD YOU PICK
Tumblr media
Good Evening guys, i am back again and i will be talking about another subject. For those who love Soccer, especially Manchester United (Red Devils) this post is for us. After today’s game, it is obvious we need to change our style of play. We have struggled against Wolves and Derby County both at Old Trafford in a space of four days and it is just sad. Today, news broke out that Jose Mourinho had a bust up with Paul Pogba and he stripped Pogba of his vice captaincy and dropped him from today’s squad.
Personally, i will pick Pogba over Mourinho. Pogba is one of the best midfielders in the world at the moment, the way he distributes passes, commands the midfield and motivates the players around him is too is enough for me. He has flaws too; his inconsistency, bad ball recovery and lack of the desire to defend. Mourinho team selection is a great concern for me and also his style of play; i do not know why he still plays Sanchez when Martial has been more productive since he arrived, Baily is definitely the best defender we have and he puts him on the bench, Valencia has given everything he can for us but he needs to change and Diogo Dalot is a rising star who needs to play often. Mourinho has a case because he did not get the transfers he want but we can still play attacking football with the squad we have. it is sad watching us play sometimes and i hope things change very soon.
This is just my personal opinion. i would like for you guys to comment and tell me what you think about Man United and the issue on Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba.

A review on the movie “TAG”
Tumblr media
Yo what’s up people, my name is James Shonubi, I am a student just like most of y’all and today I will be doing a review of the movie “TAG”. This is my first time reviewing a movie, so pity me if I make mistakes along the line. TAG is an American comedy movie about five friends from Spokane Washington in 1983, who come together in May of every year to play the game of “tag”. Tag is a playground game involving two or more players chasing other players in an attempt to touch them with their hands or “tag’ them. The movie was based on a true life story of about 10 friends who started playing tag in the 1980s and continued for over 20 years, but the director changed it up by adding more contents and cast .The movie is not a major blockbuster like The Avengers or Deadpool 2, but I found it very funny (I am a sucker for comedic movies). I will give a brief introduction of the beginning of the movie and later I will tell you guys the scenes that made me laugh. NOTE, this review contains a few spoilers for those who have not seen it.
The movie starts off with Hogan "Hoagie" Malloy (Ed Helms) explaining how playing the game with his friends had on his life while applying for a job as a janitor in Bob Callahan’s (Jon Hamm) company although it was a disguise to tag him. The two embark on a journey with Hoagie’s wife Anna Malloy (Isla Fisher) and a reporter from the Wall Street Journal Rebecca Crosby (Annabelle Wallis) to recruit two other friends Randy ‘Chili’ Cilliano (Jake Johnson), Kelvin Sable (Hannibal Buress) to take down their friend Jerry Pierce (Jeremy Renner) who was never tagged since they started the game over 30 years ago and was going getting married on May. The movie is for people of all ages who want to sit back and have a good laugh, although I will not recommend it for people below the ages of 16, as it contains profane languages, violent scenes, and sexual references.
Tumblr media
In this scene, the gang tricked Jerry into coming to the venue of the rehearsal dinner the night before so that they could tag him. Once, he entered the place it was like he could sense them. He was able to predict all their moves and at the same time whoop their a*****. It was like he was a super warrior; he threw Callahan away with a table cloth making him slap Hoagie who wanted to tag him. Gentle Kevin went to block the door to stop Jerry from escaping, Jerry slid and pulled his pants down and later punched Hoagie on his a**. He escaped and later introduced his fiancé to the gang, who made them sign an agreement to not play the game at specific functions leading up to the wedding and also at the wedding. This forced agreement lead the gang (including the two women) to search for loopholes in the deal and come up with desperate ways to tag Jerry.
Tumblr media
This is my best scene. The gang attended the rehearsal dinner, looking for the perfect opportunity to tag Jerry. Jerry being a step ahead of them, decided to break the gang by introducing a childhood friend; who had something with both Chilli and Bob. After the dinner, Jerry escaped into the forest with Hoagie, Kelvin and Chilli chasing him. He lured them into the forest where he had placed booby-traps in the forest. For those who know about survival instincts in the forest, when the person uses a trap nets, swinging logs and a proper camouflage; this was how Jerry set up the forest. The 3 of guys (Hoagie, Kelvin and Chilli) learnt a lesson on survival in the forest.
Tumblr media
In this scene, the gang found out about a meeting Jerry was going, they decided to crash it and try to finally tag him. As usual, Jerry was too smart for them and was able to detect them in the crowd. He started with splashing coffee on Chilli, to slapping Hoagie with donuts and later used the fire extinguisher on Bob. Unknowing to him, they had blocked all the exits and also put traps outside the windows; he had to hid in a store room till his wife came to rescue him. His innocent, concerned looking wife was also in on the plans with Jerry and threatened the wedding; this made Hoagie desperate to find a way to tag him.
The movie ended with the gang receiving bad news about one of them and hence led to something remarkable happening. The news reminded the guys the reason for playing the game all these while and why it needs to continue. Hoagie reminded them of gang’s saying “You don’t stop playing because you grow old, you grow up because you stop playing”.
I personally enjoyed this movie, it reminded me of the meaning of true friendship. No matter how busy or far you are, you should always make out time once a while to check up on your friends and celebrate with each other. Even though, the gang used extreme means to show their love; you could sense how they meant to each other. So, I encourage all teens and those in their early 20s to find a way to watch this movie, and maybe you and your buddies can find another way to make sure you stay in each other’s lives. I hope I did not spoil it too much and I will love a feedback on my post, to improve on my future reviews. For those going to watch it, ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!.
