Snuck in through the garden gate every night that summer just to seal my fate / This summer is the apocalypse / Would you lead me to the garden? In the garden would you trust me if I told you it was just a summer thing? / I hate it here so I will go to secret gardens in my mind

Also the thing that guts me about Peter is the whole song she’s asking for forgiveness!!!!! Is it something I did!!!!! Forgive me Peter!!!!!!! I tried!!!!!!!! Like it reminds me of the desperation in Dorothea but it’s much further along in the grieving process but she’s still asking for forgiveness for not holding on, for not waiting…. But then rather than ending with ‘the woman who waits by the window has turned off the light’ the song ends with the chorus again!!!! Like a part of her is still waiting for the person to come back to her side…………
