It's important to show that you care. Fuck being nonchalant. Text first, send multiple messages in a row. Tell them what they mean to you, be honest about how you feel. Tell your friends that you love them. Love is a gift that can be given away freely, by anyone and to anyone. Show that you care.

went to an elementaryschool musical production and they started the show with the director saying: "Now there's some very small viewers here today, so just so you know. There will be a scary character later in the show. This is her," and a girl in a kinda scary ghost outfit did a creepy walk across the stage, the stood up straight and did a cheery wave, "but remember, it's just Nina. She's pretending to be scary."

Aaaand i would very much like for horror movies to have that as a little bonus feature you can chose. Let me start a movie with Guillermo del Toro showing me a scary ghost that might jump at me, but don't worry, thats just Doug!

I spent six hours yesterday driving the entire width of Wisconsin. I saw:

A massive wind farm.

Multiple solar farms and buildings with solar panels.

A pagan supply store with the progress pride flag in the window.

A billboard saying "No More Billionaires!"

The rural heartland ain't a monolith.

Of course I also saw a lot of MAGA stuff. But Wisconsin isn't a discrete thing, it is millions of individual people with nuance and detail and difference. So are "rural America," "the South," and "red states."

Don't castigate people for where they live. Help folks working for change.

Me: my weight fluctuating is totally morally neutral. I don’t need to dedicate large portions of time to gaining or losing weight because my weight doesn’t define me. As long as I eat nutritious food and get in some movement, my weight isn’t important :)
