humming little songs into a microphone in front of no one

quiet drones buzz through the speakers

a wooden stage, creaking miserably with every step

a cramped bar, spirits trapped within its aging walls

in front of me is a projector, behind me a white screen

i am blinded by the light

but my mouth keeps whispering little secrets

like the people in this movie will listen to me

the color eventually fades, the film eventually ends

i wished for my mother to come watch me, but i'm relieved she didn't show up

i wished for You to show up, but i told you not to anyways

i didn't want to be alone, but i wanted no one here

it's no way to live a life, wrapped up in

fabrication

mom told me it was time to come down

when i step closer to the mic, the feedback shrieks into my ears

i let it ring longer, i don't want to hear anymore

i let the projection blast into my eyes, i don't want to see anymore

i let the music take over me, i don't want these hands or legs anymore

there is no stage and this room isn't real

this is a dream you can't leave

we make our own lives inside of these bubbles, but can you make the attempt to bring yourself back into yours,

or will you sleep and dream this dream forever?

do you want to see the stars, or the inside of your own head?

is anyone else waiting for you, or are you waiting for something else?

reminds me of slint, just a little more melodic. really cool :)

really good stuff. although the mixing is very distant and quiet, maybe this was recorded from a tape or something. if i heard what it actually was and the recording was more fleshed out, this would be really really amazing. mysterious kinda thing.
