'Cornish told RadioTimes.com: "Well, there are five books. Season 1 encompasses the first two books. So we think there's definitely two more seasons we'd love to make out of the remaining books.'
I RECKON IF THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS ARE ANYTHING LIKE THE LAST THREE DAYS THEN THIS IS A TOTAL POSSIBILITY.
also idk if this is an unpopular opinion but following this layout i think season 2 should be solely based on book 3 and then season 3 should be a combination of books 4 and 5.
*book spoilers for 3,4, and 5*
The whole plotline with the Chelsea outbreak I think could carry an entire season especially since the creative team seems keen to explore how the trauma of risking their lives daily is affecting the younger generations. Only doing one book could also allow for more domestic scenes between the trio which I've been seeing come up a couple of times amongst reviews by fans of the books as an aspect they found lacking. When Lucy resigns from Lockwood and Co I think wouldn't be as impactful if one or two episodes later she rejoins rather than using the break between seasons to introduce a time skip. While books 4 and 5 result in a major overhaul of everything we thought we could trust in when originally reading I think it would serve really well as following each other in the third and final season. Penelope/Marissa moving quickly to take over the agencies in London would increase the tension and need for the Lockwood and Co team to take action urgently. The writers seemed to favor a fast-paced story which would be better served by following book 4 with book 5.
Overall I'm just glad that Joe Cornish and the team behind the show are planning ahead for future seasons and want to continue the story they started to tell. I really hope that they get the opportunity to do so and we get the chance to see it.

SPOILERS FOR LOCKWOOD AND CO TV SHOW AND BOOKS
all this is totally dependent on Netflix renewing the show
What excites me most about the introduction of Norrie's character is how it can potentially switch up the relationship between Lucy and Holly for the tv show adaptation. The show could just follow the books with the animosity between Lucy and Holly being based on the former overprotectiveness of her new family and insecurity about how she doesn't have the same easy relationship with feminity as Holly does etc. However, I feel like they could choose to incorporate Lucy feeling as if she is betraying her previous closest female relationship with Norrie by opening up to Holly in a way she didn't have to worry about when bonding with Lockwood and George. It's just an idea but I feel like it could add a bit more depth to the Holly and Lucy relationship and make a bit more of a sympathetic viewpoint for Lucy.

George getting a middle name was for sure Jonathan Stroud realising he is the only one out of the trio without one and writing it into the script.

Lockwood saying ‘Anyone fancy another beer?’ Was so jarring to me. Like never in a million years would I have thought a tv adaption of Lockwood and Co would have them sitting at the table of Portland Row drinking beer. Like that was for sure when it hit me that these characters aren’t 14/15 anymore.

Lockwood and Lucy show dynamic thoughts *SPOILERS*
totally not writing this only 10 minutes after finishing the finale but I just can’t not share how much I loved the adaptation of Lucy and Lockwood. I feel like it was pretty much a give in for me at least that the team behind the show were going to commit a bit more heavily to the romance. While the slow burn element of their relationship was such a core feature I’m not upset that they replaced this with more overt scenes of the awkward ‘we know somethings there but it’s not going to be discussed quite yet’ energy. I think the chemistry between Cameron and Ruby allowed this new dynamic to work. Like the *CONSTANT* handholding, jealousy over Kipps, Lucy being upset over the asset label, calming down during Lockwood’s panic attack and the apology in the kitchen etc. worked I think to hook a new audience on the potential while also rewarding us older fans. I guess the pacing of the show with the audience watching them build the team dynamic immediately after Lucy’s hiring made the creative team want to have some tension not just between George and Lucy/Lockwood but amongst all three of them. I did find it weird seeing Lucy and Lockwood fighting outright rather than just challenging each other. However I feel like it was somewhat realistic since Lucy was pushing Lockwood to open up more and be vulnerable than she ever did in the books. The time skips in the books just weren’t there in the show so I guess it makes sense that it wasn’t a gradual thing. I just hope we get a season two and onwards since I love how they took us right to the brink of Lucy and Lockwood just in season one alone and what they would look like in the future. I really need to just do an immediate rewatch to order my thoughts/opinions.

finally finished watching the entire first season and it was just 100000/10. I had to take a break after episode six cause it was coming close to the end and I was getting emotional. getting two books in one season was such a blessing in disguise.
