EXCLUSIVE: Walker star/executive producer Jared Padalecki has re-teamed with the CW series’ executive producer/showrunner Anna Fricke for a new drama project, which has been set up at CBS for development.

Like Walker, the untitled one-hour takes place in Padalecki’s home state of Texas, but instead of a ranger, he will now play a doctor. Unlike most medical dramas, which take place at big, urban hospitals, the Fricke/Padalecki project spotlights rural medicine, which is rarely seen on TV. It centers on a headstrong, devoted country doctor (Padalecki) who practices his unique style of improvisational medicine alongside his new protégé, a young doctor running from her past, as they operate a mobile clinic and heal the bodies and souls of their underserved community in the medical desert of rural Texas.

Fricke and Laura Terry executive produce through Fricke’s Pursued by a Bear alongside Padalecki and Dan Spilo. CBS Studios, where Fricke has an overall and Padalecki a first-look deal, is the studio.

The Fricke/Padalecki project does not impact the chances of Padalecki headlining a Fire Country spinoff after he did a three-episode arc on the popular CBS/CBS Studios drama this season. That offshoot, referred to as Fire Country: Surfside, is in early stages. It remains in contention to follow Fire Country‘s greenlighted spinoff, Sheriff Country, slated to premiere next season.

Additionally, Padalecki has projects in development at CBS Studios under his first-look deal there, which he re-upped last year.

In addition to headlining and executive producing CW/CBS Studios’ Walker, Padalecki also executive produced the prequel series Walker: Independence, working on both with Fricke who developed the former and co-developed the latter in addition to her services as executive producer on both and showrunner on Walker.

“Anna Fricke is a fantastic producer, and Jared is a great producer and lead; he was a really good number one,” CBS Studios President David Stapf said of the duo following Walker‘s cancellation after four seasons.

If you are up for it, your top 5 SRK movies? Do you have a feel good SRK movie? Which movie of his has the best album according to you?

I was revisiting his movies and man the nostalgia got to me🥰 His movies defined my teenage years and my college years. I have not watched any of his recent ones. In fact Ra One was my last srk movie. Life happened and i lost interest in bollywood at some point. But i make sure that i revisit his movies. Was watching Swades the other day and man that movie stays relevant even after 20 years. I know it's not a celebrated movie of his but Mohan Bhargava's journey in that movie tugs my heart.

Choosing top 5 is the most difficult question. There are so many great movies of him ...I will try my best to concise.

Danny didn't participate because she is not the women of Supernatural ... Her role in Supernatural was equivalent to being the extra. And even that role was decorative. She got the most forgettable character and only because she is Jensen's wife and not to forget there was some arrangements between CW and Jensen for FBBC ...CW was said to be the ghost investor in FBBC which is why we saw the blatant advertising of FBBC products in last few seasons. so technically, she wasn't the woman of Supernatural. She was a wife who forced herself in a legacy show just because her husband was the lead of the show. That doesn't deserve the crown of women of the spn.

The women of the spn panel had those women who meant something for the story. Who helped the show to be better..there involvement actually further the story and made a difference. The panel were for nepotism babies.

I don't understand why danneel didn't participate in "the woman of supernatural" virtual panel that happened earlier today. Even genevieve eventually participated in it when she wasn't originally suppose too

I would say she doesn’t belong on a stage with actual actors since she bombed her role so badly. Not that she had much to work with, the writers clearly disliked her heavily.

Well, you are definitely not alone Anon...infact I have wondered the same. Especially the way they announced the pregnancy. It was so sudden and unexpected, there was hardly any chatter...also the announcement on Jensen side seem like a formality. He hardly showed any enthusiasm or excitement...infact, whenever he was asked about them, he routed the conversation to JJ. Not to mention, the announcement seem more like a promotion for their brewery FBBC.

How wrong am I to suspect Jensen's twins were in-vitro babies and he agreed for a second pregnancy under pressure since he was so blank-faced when Jared tells the story of Jensen's announcing him for the twins? Or am I simply a really, really, really bad person? (Not saying he doesn't love them.)Also, really new on this antiDanneel/Jenneel thing and boy am I glad! Thought I was crazy not liking this woman.

Wondering or suspecting doesn’t make you a bad person. Critical thinking doesn’t make you a bad person. Disliking someone does not make you a bad person. All these things make you human, curious and intuitive. I’ve always disliked Danneel, right from my gut and there’s no one on this earth that can tell me there isn’t a super valid reason for that. She’s proven me right time and time again. Trust your gut!
