There’s something about Roy’s specific kind of abandonment issues. A lot of other characters, they’ll distance themselves, they’ll stop themselves from getting attached, they’ll put up a wall and push people away. Roy? Generally speaking, he’s always open. He loves so easily, he’ll get attached to people so quickly. He puts himself out there, he gives his whole heart, and every time he’s hoping that this time he’ll be good enough for someone to stay, but every time he’s so scared that he won’t be good enough, that eventually they’ll leave. And every time he’s proven right. It’s Roy Harper’s tragedy. He’ll always lose the ones he loves, no matter how hard he tries. He’ll try and try and try, he’ll let people back into his life the second they ask, but they’ll always leave again. And in his mind, he’ll never be enough.

Tried to think of a favourite fanon trope, but then remembered one I genuinely hate to see.
[ID: Two drawings of a mostly featureless character against a solid grey background. The first version is labeled "Canon" and has animalistic sharp teeth and slit pupils like a cat, snarling and grinning at the camera, raising sharp claws. Text below the canon character reads, "A manipulative, sadistic character that doesn't apologize for their actions and delights in hurting the heroes". The second version is labeled "Fanon", and shows a character with large, crying "baby doll" eyes, blushing as though embarassed or sad, nervously touching two fingers together. The text below the fanon character reads, "Soft woobified creature that only tortured and tormented the heroes because they were sad and misunderstood and is secrely in love with the lead". The words "sad" and "misunderstood" are in all caps for sarcastic emphasis. End ID.]

My Neighbor Batman
The challenge was to draw characters in a different style
I drew these for Guess That Artist event in dpxdc server im in >w< I animated it too! But didn't show the animation in the event because I knew it would rat me out XDDD
Actually gives me an idea of like ;w; baby dick and jason being taken in. T o T
I also made the cape wrap around Jason protectively. And then that's a moped I hand/digitally painted in the bg.. not a car. its too small XD

I don't think that the civilians in the DC universe are picky with regards to who's saving the day, per se, but they are very attached to their respective local superheroes and are extremely sensitive and scrutinizing if someone unfamiliar shows up. Like there is a general understanding that superheroes aren't tied to their respective cities 100% of the time, but there's also a very intense Local Civilian Vibe Check if you're superheroing on someone else's turf.
POV: You have just stopped a rampaging supervillain in downtown Metropolis (You are Booster Gold):

you don't get it. i miss batman. except not that batman, and not that guy's batman, and not that guy's batman, but this highly specific iteration of batman that coalesces after you're hundreds of batman comics deep and you figure out that everyone in your entire life has lied to you about batman this entire time. i miss that specific batman
