And then the ending, where everyone seems dead from (i assume) Hapna but Axel is the only one who gets back up?

This AU is the same as that other Takaakhiro fanart I did, they're yokai and the plot is somewhat similar to canon (video is dramatized bc I wanted to fit the vibe of the song).

I finally sat down and properly tried my hand at animation. I've experimented here and there, done some bouncy balls in the past. But I always tried jumping into big ambitious projects and lost motivation almost immediately. But! This time I scaled scaling back and just let things be a little wonky whenever I got stuck on something.

And I'm actually so happy with this T-T It's my pfp for artfight this year. I thought about starting prep early this year and made this instead when i saw other people have cute gifs as their pfp :> And now my lil guy will be perpetually excited about new attacks :D

I re-watched the movie to make sure using it would be relevant, and I think « The wind rises, we must try to live » matches Hiro’s story, idk why finishing this took me so long and i’m still not entirely satisfied/not sure how to improve the story flow but it’s nice to finally mark it as done ! I feel like i’m making hiro cry too much in my art and i can’t unsee it now,,,,,, i also finished the negaposi fanart i started to celebrate the upcoming year so I finished everything « important » on my list yeyy o999. NegaPosi Angler ep12 ramblings 🎣

(ofc it’s about takaaki again..what can i say. i love him so much.) i had always assumed that his little brother’s passing was due to his illness (hence why he was so adamant about hiro having to go to the hospital asap and stuff) but it’s so much worse and heartbreaking than i thought…

no wonder he hadn’t gone to visit his grave even once during those three years holy shit. i myself have a kid brother i care about a lot i can’t even fathom the immense guilt that must’ve been crushing him since… rewatching that scene from episode 10 right after hits different now i love inflicting pain upon myself

im placing takaaki breaking down in my top3 of things that caused me the most emotional anguish this year, and never before in my life have i been that desperate to reach out through my screen to hug and comfort a fictional character idc if i sound crazy i was literally whispering/yelling and begging for hiro to do something, anything. like, your friend is crying and looking like that right in front of you and you’re just. standing there, how. (tho i understand it now, this is hiro we’re talking abt, dude was a blubbering mess over a simple ‘thank you’ earlier and how he wasn’t used to saying alot of things and mayhaps it would’ve been ooc for him to physically comfort takaaki there. also he was pbly feeling awkward enough as it is and wanted to give him space but STILL. I WANTED THAT HUG. (fyi i am so writing a fic abt this later i could alr see it creating itself in my head while watching the scene like—)

i swear these VAs are so goated i can’t stress this enough—legit felt my heart twisting itself inside out hearing him sob im not strong enough for this

almost forgot to mention how frigging wholesome and funny the first half of the episode was; takaaki sulking and trying to give hiro the cold shoulder and failing miserably every time had me in stitches, like, c’mon. just admit it, dude you can’t even stay genuinely mad at him for more than two minutes straight you love him too much for that

overall that first half was awesome as hell and the whole sequence of hiro catching his first big fish with takaaki’s help got me soooo happy and emotional i was so proud of him… he did it ;-;

also loooook it’s the lil girl and her mom from episode one,, she grew up🥹

and fuck, that ending… it got me crying real tears of joy,, i had a feeling we might get a timeskip and they absolutely delivered with it… ngl to me hiro started off as a okay-ish, almost annoying mc whom i didn’t think i’d even end up liking at the beginning, but here i am two months later weeping bc of his big, genuine grin as he reunites with his friends after years of medical treatment…

look at him!!! 2 years later and he’s all better now!! he gets to hang out with takaaki and the everymart gang and go fishing with them again!! this is everything i needed rly i couldn’t have asked for a more perfect and satisfying ending.. im gonna miss them all ofc but im so so happy rn

this whole sequence just... yeah. I want to add that the way Takaaki was the one to bolt and Hiro needing to Break shit after Hit me really hard as well. They're both miserable and i hate it but Love Love Love the writing of this conflict. I adore this Show so fucking much omg

im sorry in advance if some things don’t make sense, im still feeling like a mess that ep really did a number on me;-;

i think what really got me was that so far we have never seen someone as kind as takaaki getting that upset before, to the point where he became physically violent.

and that goes for hiro as well.

two young men who let their emotions get the best of them after months of running away from their problems and calling each other out on it, when they weren’t in the right headspace and both battling with their own inner struggles. hypocrisy, to put it bluntly…

we have takaaki, who i assume has been dealing with guilt of some sort (making assumptions for now since we don’t have the full story yet, it seems), guilt over running away from his family after his kid brother’s death, over not going to visit his grave for reasons we’ve yet to know, and so on… what i can confidently say is that, it’s complicated.

meanwhile, hiro is scared. he’s scared of dying, so much that he’d rather look away and pretend everything is fine (which is understandable…).

he keeps putting off his hospital appointment, because if he goes, and the doctor tells him the same thing he did six months ago and this time takaaki is with him to hear it, there’s no running away from that anymore—funny thing is, it didn’t matter that much to him back then, but that was before knowing how fun fishing is and how warm and fuzzy dinners at the back of Everymart and a friend’s kindness feel. that might be what he is afraid of losing, along with his life.

and maybe, just maybe… thinking that takaaki might care and worry about him only out of guilt for the little brother he couldn’t save hurts way more than hiro can admit but i wouldn’t be too sure. takaaki’s always been super kind from the start, before finding out about hiro’s disease. (btw i still can’t think of a reasonable explanation for why he offered to take care of his debt and live at his home without asking for much in return, so that hiro, who he barely knew at the time, could get a fresh start…)

whoops im kinda straying from what i initially wanted to talk about and went off on a tangent but im not even really sorry these two lads and their relationship mean so much to me—

anyways. back to their fight… hopefully i still have a few somewhat coherent thoughts left in me but that would be overestimating my cognitive abilities…

cuz now all i can think about is how darn attractive takaaki looked during the whole scene—

and how when i said i wanted to see him pin hiro against the wall this isn’t exactly the context i had in mind…:(

genuinely wondering how come fictional men get ten times hotter the more miserable they feel… that’s crazy…

I think the writing is great!! Feels very domestic and casual and like them u know? Like. Hi again, I didn't expect to finish this piece this early but oh well lol. It's based off Takaaki's peace sign, i find it amusing, so I gave him one of my weird habit. Finishing smth, anything, and striking a peace sign bc yeyyy. Victory.

The next Negaposi fancomic will be based off a comment from the last post (I've got the whole thing covered in 2 pages, just need to ink it&color it.... fast enough...probably out by the end of the week). Any form of support (like checking out my twitter) is greatly appreciated in the mean time ^^b. I plan on making more comics in this fandom -> I've somewhat gotten the hang of it and want to make more, but w uni finals I'll probably disappear for a while after the next comic TT,, if you've got ideas do drop them like last time, I'll just do them later if they catch my interest :]! I also have some ideas of my own (writing's not my forte so it might be slightly ooc) for once I'm finished with finals.

Ep 9 was seriously adorable and heartwarming, I like the whole cast sm ;;. I wonder if the big sis shark loan also has a type of illness like Hiro, either way it it was nice to see them under a different light. Ep9 is probably the calm before the storm but it was really nice nonetheless. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for ep 10 lol.

post-episode 9 rambles (this might be my favourite episode so far) 🎣

Like. A whole episode, entirely carried by the immaculate chemistry between the whole gang? I'm gonna just ramble for a sec about my thoughts so...

I just love how simple the setup is. Everyone is stuck in one room and we just watch how they hang out. And they were all so goofy!! Like...

Just. Doing random shit with your friends and laughing about way too hard is just so real and down to earth and relatable. I don't have the words but watching this episode just made me really happy and I'm hoping to finally be able to do some writing. Wich like... I've been struggling with portraying their group dynamic and this episode was basically a master class on just that.

Am I the only one who thought that call was sus? Maybe it's just me overthinking because I really want that background info on Takaaki. Speaking of Takaaki...

I know that this wasn't intended like that but... Look at the way he looks at Hiro T-T They make me F E E L things okay. I love him so much. They're literally golden retriever boyfriend and cat also boyfriend. IT'S CANON TRUST ME BRO

Also just happy Tsunehiro. All that talk about how he feels about fishing? I just. Idk. I said this before but it was just so relatable. Not about fishing specifically, but doing something tedious and feeling that content kind of tired? Yeah. That hit home for me somehow.

I just kept finding myself thinking "Yeah. I've been there. I felt like that before" over and over and over again. Even in the smaller moments. For example when they all start eating together and Arua is still at the stove. He doesn't feel disconnected from them. When we focus on him we can still hear the other in the background, just like he is and. Yeah. I've been there. Standing in the kitchen, cooking for friends while they talk and goof off and I'm just content inhabiting the same space. I've sat in a car and everyone is talking over each other and I just realize how fun this moment is. And ugh. They just feal so tangible to me.

The episode was also just plain funny imo. The three loan sharks showing up? And they pull groceries out of literally nowhere?? It's so unserious and I love it. Also love the loan sharks (do we know their names??)

Yeah. I think... That's all the immediate rambles I have. Definetly my favourite episode so far. I fucking love how this episode is basically a character study.

That being said... This episode also established their current status quo. Everyone feels good and content. I am waiting for the other shoe to drop. The whole "I have only two years to live"-thing is just hovering above everything and the longer they don't address it the more it stresses me out.

Because yes. They're friends and close and enjoy each other's company... But one thing I noticed this episode is that Hiro doesn't call Hana and Takaaki by their given names. He still calls them Tsutsujimori and Ayukawa, while they call him Tsunehiro (or just Hiro in Takaaki's case). It feels very symbolic to me of how he's not ready to really let them in yet. But I don't know if this has been a consitent thing or not. It just stood out to me when the three of them were talking.

I really love this show man so thank you for indulging my first impression rambles. Now, I feel like there's a cute missing scene here where Takaaki and Hiro go home together after this. We'll see if I can finally get over my block and finish another One-Shot.. Wish me luck! 🎣🎣

I am still absolutely blown away by this!! Like. I know I've said this every single time but you just manage to capture such a cozy, intimate vibe and just... Yeah. Here a small list of my some of my favorite details

- The expressions and look of the third panel. Just in general. I dunno what to say. I like it a lot

not to say i disliked it buttt it fell a little flat to me compared to the other epsss... i didn't super enjoy the narrated/documentary style format.. i think an issue i also had was that i set the expectation for myself that it would follow closer to how last ep ended! it felt like the fishing parts were slower this ep too, if i was into fishing i probably would've enjoyed it more lolll... but alas i have never touched a fishing rod in my life 😭😭

i liked the group scenes this ep a lot though!! i love seeing hiro enjoying himself it just makes me saur happy..... he acts a lot more comfortable with the others ☹️🫶🫶

this part with him smiling i acctually had to pause to punch the wall for a moment like boy u are too cute omfg….

alsooo kozue and takaaki have a funner dynamic than i expected!!! they're so playful with each other i thought it was very cute!!! i really liked the scene where kozue was stressing about needing him to help her with the sabiki rig 😭😭
