HII OMG sorry if this is a weird comment im just super happy 2 see an endo-neu coining blog bcs as someone who's endo-neu I always feel too uncomfortable asking clearly aligned blogs for terms

anyway no big deal if u don't feel like it, but would you be interested in coining a role for alters who's purpose is to abstain from violent behavior? they might be commonly triggered to front by violent thoughts or actions by other alters and make sure that no such behavior is indulged in (they could also be anger holders that simply deal with it better)

from what I've heard, I tend to see people saying sidesystems are when a system is split into two (or more) groups of alters that have way heavier dissociative barriers between groups than within them to the point that only one group can front at a time and any attempt to communicate between them is incredibly difficult. so in a way a "more severe" subsystem

aside from that I've also seen it be called a ramcoa specific term, where the most common example is to have a more natural appearing system and then a programmed sidesystem that hides behind it or various programmed sidesystems that periodically switch places, take all that as you will

the whole headspace area definition is something I've only seen either as a common result of the dissociative barriers and not as a definition or within endo spaces where people tend to define a lot of terms differently to accommodate the fact the majority of them aren't disordered and therefore don't experience dissociative barriers

I'm speaking here from experience within various system communities here rather than medical papers so correct anything I say if it seems off!

Quite a few things. I'll go into some that to mind. What is listed goes against the nature of the disorder.

*If you have sources to prove any of these claims to be false, please list them. I know people are going to disagree with this.*

Subsystems, a system within a system. This is not possible. Alters are not their own individuals with their own brains. They can not have their own systems. However if the term is being used to describe certain alters who are more/less dissociative barriers then this doesn't apply.

Side systems, systems which are only accessible in certain parts of headspace. This is one of few definitions I've seen but also the most used one. Again, some alters can have more/less dissociative barriers than others, but headspace doesn't effect either of those things. Headspace is simply a visualization tool. Parts of it cannot be locked off from other alters and alters do not live in it whilst not fronting. Headspace is a tool anyone can use, not just systems.

Headspace in general. Yes, headspace is a thing. However, headspace is, as I said, just a visualization and not something that works as a second world for your alters where certain parts are locked off and unable to be accessed.

General endogenic claims. DID needs trauma to form and cannot be non-disordered. Spirituality also has no place in system spaces and trying to be included in them is ridiculous. Alters are not just people in your head. They are dissociated parts of you, distinct personality states. Said states are only separate because of the severe dissociation caused by trauma.
