That Lovely Face, Like a Moon, Where Did He Go?

Story Synopsis: It’s a regular Tuesday at the office when it all goes to Hell in a handbasket, but that’s supposed to be commonplace in Metropolis, even though Steelworks Corporation’s Chief Press Officer, Jay Nakamura, doesn’t believe in Heaven nor Hell. Regardless, it’s never a boring day in the City of Tomorrow. After all, what’s a bad day at work compared to an eternity in darkness?

Story Synopsis: After the events of Beast World, Lois admits to Clark that Jon was recruited by a multiversal Superman and Lois Lane to fight his old nemesis, Ultraman, just days before the incident. Clark reflects on the sins that have piled up since Jon’s return from space and his refusal to face the reality of what happened with his eldest child. As the guilt creeps in, so do the memories of the illusion he lived in under Pariah’s control during the events of Dark Crisis. The son in front of him isn’t the son he expected. Now he has to reckon with the fact that as his real son grows up, he also grows apart from Clark.

Alternatively, Clark watches as his boy falls in love and moves on, leaving Clark behind.

In order to get a full appreciation for this story, I strongly recommend reading "Dark Crisis: Worlds Without a Justice League - Superman #1" and "Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent," as the storylines are heavily referenced and reflected upon in the fanfiction. Bendisboot canon is also referenced.

I love seeing Jon suffer, so I had to kill his boyfriend in at least one story lol. Somebody had to! The whump is sacred. Promise that Saturday's entry will be a little lighter hehe.

When he had first escaped the volcano, his daydreams were put on pause for awhile. Those first few miles he had ran, recovering his strength, he had passed a nearby settlement of houses. One, quaint and red-roofed, had a fenced-in little garden in the backyard, with a certain kind of flower growing along the wooden posts and peeking out through the gate. He had stopped and stared at them so long, he had risked being caught.

Dahlias were the first flower Jon saw upon leaving captivity.

Jay and Jon are parents, now. In a way, its the easiest thing they’ve ever faced.
