Some cross-fandom characters I think would absolutely be Best Friends if they were in the same universe:

-Gojo Satoru (JJK) and Vash the Stampede (Trigun) (Both The Strongest in their respective universes, both had a falling out with someone important to them [Geto and Knives respectively] after mutually experiencing a traumatic event that set them on very different paths, both like sweets [well ok the donuts thing with Vash isn't manga canon but still], similar iconic hand signal, both have a silly side)

-Laios (Dungeon Meshi) and Wuk Lamat (Final Fantasy 14) (Incidentally I think Vash would also love Wuk Lamat bc they're both all about Love and Peace. But like, as soon as Wuk Lamat was wondering what a polar bear would taste like I was like "Oh she's gotta meet Laios somehow")

-Minsc (BG3) and Gundam Tanaka (Danganronpa) (Just thought of this one like a minute ago but don't tell me they wouldn't bond over hamsters)

-Mithrun (Dungeon Meshi) and Astarion (BG3) (Ok this one might seem like a stretch but like they're both white haired elves who have gone through Trauma and are on a quest for revenge against someone who put them through hell. There's also official art of Mithrun in a vampire costume)

-Kakyoin (JJBA) and Kurama (Yu Yu Hakusho) (Both smart/red and green color scheme/just kinda similar vibes I guess idk)

-Yusuke and Kuwabara (Yu Yu Hakusho), Josuke and Okuyasu (JJBA) (Josuke would be thrilled to meet another guy with a pompadour for one thing. Again mostly vibes-based but I def think they'd all get along)
