Just watched We're All Gonna Die and omg what a BLAST!! I love dread so much and in the live format it was chaotic but so fun. I'm so excited for the next show, amazing work by everyone involved, George is just a gem.

Can't believe some people found Mariah annoying?? She was SO excited and nervous and her character was a ditz on purpose, it was hilarious and not to be taken seriously. Absolutely loved her and so sad she felt like she had to apologize for having a good time?

Anyways Evangeline Walker final girl is ICONIC!!

Responding to the excuses ppl say when they’re “TOTALLY NOT” erasing Yelena’s aroace sexuality

- So tired of people who are “aro/ace allies” until the moment it costs them something. “We need more representation! I’m here for the aro/ace community!” until you wanna ship Yelena x Kate or Bob x Yelena, then you’re totally chill coming up with excuses like “but mcu is different from the comics…!” and erasing one of the little pieces of aro/ace rep we actually have

- “Just because Yelena is aro/ace in the comics doesn’t mean she’s aro/ace in the MCU! These are different characters!!” If Yelena was gay in the comics and they had her be straight in the MCU, you would understand why erasing minority representation is bad.

- “Aro/aces can still date!” Awesome, true. So I better see those Yelena x character fics depicting what’s like being in a sexual relationship without being sexually attracted to your partner, to show how it feels to desire a romantic relationship when to you, that means something different to typical romance, you had better show Yelena being an aromantic asexual person in a relationship. Or was this just an excuse to write her in an allosexual, alloromantic relationship and then say you aren’t erasing her sexuality?

- “Why do you care so much? Just let it go!” I care so much because it’s 2025 and aro/ace people like myself are still being ignored and mistreated by our own community. Aro/ace people have even less representation than most branches of the queer community, and the blatant erasure of one of the very few pieces of representation we DO have helps no one.

Need to add my ideas because i love music brrrrr

Yelena- Everything all the time, she has no organized playlist but every genre wrapped in one. I think her faves would be hardcore upbeat edm tracks because of the amount of sounds and carefree content. She's so open to anything so also listens to a lot of international artists.

Bob- Was definitely an emo kid, still follows him to this day. I think since then he's branched out to nu-metal and classic rock. He can and will get down to anything though. I think he'd remember an artist one of the team mentions in passing and then does a deep dive just to get closer to them.

Bucky- I think 40s swing is his one true love but it probably hurts too much to casually listen to. I don't think he's really a music listener, more of a literature person but to keep him grounded where he is now, he listens to the pop radio every now and then. I think he also accepts recommendations but struggles to get into any one specific genre or artist.

Ava- 90s RnB do you see the vision?!! This woman loves a smooth beat and chilled out vibe. She also likes modern hiphop and only listens to female artists. I think she also has a soft spot for 2000s pop since it's also slower but better for dancing to.

Alexei- When he needs to get hyped up he definitely listens to Russian folk or anthems. For casual listening anything upbeat and uplifting. He probably has a specific interest in American pop for this reason and loves anything he can scream the lyrics in the car to.

John- A classic rock snob. I don't think he's an active listener but he goes on about how "music isn't the same anymore" and gets caught up in that nostalgia. A few of the songs he does like in recent times are probably from coldplay, bastille and simple plan.

Tell me what music genre each thubderbolt loves and what artist they listen to!

People see an attractive aroace character and can't fathom them being romatically or sexually uninvolved. I'm not even too bothered by people shipping Yelena but in the way it's done even by people who accept her as aroace has just felt weird. Like romantisizing her 'firsts'. I've seen it so many times and it just reminds me of the 'I'm only gay for you' trope.

if there's one thing all the aroace yelena discourse has taught us, its not even that aspect identities are never respected in fandom spaces - its that aspect identities are only valid under extremely specific conditions. the few aspec characters we have besides her are either literally unshippable, due to the rest of the cast having romantic relationships (jughead, pip, Isaac), or are practically invisible (koisenu leads, the dude from shadow hunters.) but now that there is an aspec character who's extremely visible, single, and also part of a mostly single, allo, cast, people are practically frothing at the mouth to put her in a romantic relationship, to the point where they claim her comics sexuality 'isn't canon'. it says a lot more about people here than they think

I agree either way! The way this is shown in the movie is amazing and really speaks to me! It's so important to drive home the fact that mental illness/disability is a facet of the person that will inform their lives forever.

Also, I just saw the movie again within the last few hours and this time around (only my 2nd watch) I noticed details that I honestly think can lend to interpreting Bob as plural. The line is definitely blurred which is common when systems are formed by bipolar but even he has trouble identifying who he is compared to the void. Sometimes it's "I", "it" or "we".

Regardless I love finding comfort in this movie and in Bob as a character and I think if someone sees themselves in him and his potential headmates then that's a job well done!

I think the main reason I can't get down with system!Bob is that it feels like it pushes the idea of there being a 'bad' or dangerous alter. In a system, everyone comes about for a reason and usually has a role. They can be antagonistic to other alters or people in the system's life but 99% of the time it's for protection and isolation of the system, not to hurt others on purpose.

Where as a major depressive low caused by bipolar can cause people to be very reckless, to themselves and others so I think that just makes it more believable to me? Usually in instances like this I jump at the possibility of plurality but I think it reads differently to me.

Although I'm not an expert on either of these topics so I'm always open to discussion of headcanon!

This is something I always clock in fanfic! Doesn't usually get in the way of enjoyment but it's a nice detail when there's a difference between characters with a stutter and characters who are nervous talkers.

I have a lisp plus a mild stutter that's exasterbated when I'm nervous but even then one of them is more concious than the other. In my experience, nervous talking is kind of running around your words in an effort to make a sentence, where as my stutter is something I get stuck in until I restart the specific word or phrase. It can be very frustrating and embarrassing sometimes.

Bob is definitely a nervous talker because of his social experiences and low self esteem. He uses filler words a lot more than he stutters, so focusing on this in his dialogue makes it read a lot more in character.

Honestly didn't think about this until I saw OPs post but I've definitely read a lot of fics recently that over do the stutter, ones with Bob and other characters too, it's just super common.

i think- in the nicest and least mean and most /gen way possible- that before anyone writes bob, they need to rewatch the movie and study how people actually stutter. bro was not stuttering every other word and it isnt like 'w-what do y-you m-mean?', that crosses more into the speach impediment than a nervous stutter

what bob does/would do is more like 'what- what do you mean?', yeah, people do do the 'w-what' type, its usually more repeating a full word or changing it as well as adding fillers like 'uh,uhm, like' ect. for example, 'which- uh what place?'

its ofc different for everyone and you can write a character however you want, but if you just want to write him with a more realistic stutter, the best way to go would be to avoid using the 'w-what' thing too much imo :)

usually people who are just anxious struggle to find the right words/express what they mean, rather than actually physically saying the words itself. also i may be misremembering (was tweaking out the whole movie, i need to rewatch) but bob doenst actually stutter that much, hes pretty well spoken and talkative. plus not many people really like reading the w-what type much, it can get kinda annoying/repetitive

tldr; if you wanna give bob a more realistic stutter, avoid the 'w-what p-place is t-that?' and instead use a more 'which- uhm, what place is that?' or 'what- what place is that?'

I’m gonna be so real, I thought in the episode that comment was a joking reference to the Greek poet and originator of the terms sapphic and lesbian, Sappho from Lesbos. Yes her name is Sappho and yes she’s from an actual real island called Lesbos. I’ve never heard it referred to as a derogatory term, but I have read and heard about Sappho and the island she came from. Like, I’m not trying to be flippant or meme on this situation, I’m just saying this was my full train of thought

I'm super aware of Sappho, she's my favourite poet! It's very true that the term lesbian came from the Isle of Lesbos and within that context is a very okay word to use.

The problems arise because bigots started flipping the word onto lesbians with malicious intent. Through that hate and ignorance, the word's meaning is now tied to something negative. It's similar to the term Queer. It's original meaning is innocent, but it's when people started using it against our community that it became a very hateful slur. When it is reclaimed, there's no issue with either of these words. But that's the thing, Noah is not a lesbian and therefore can't decide what that word means when he uses it, especially in the context of how he used it. I interpret it was meant to be a joke of feigned ignorance/oblivion by his character and obviously fell flat.

Even if it's not something you are directly familiar with, people still get called l*sbos in this day and age, and not in a fun way. Whether it's a slur or not, if a lesbian feels harmed or uncomfortable by him using that word, I say we listen and respect that. <3
