LEPIDOPTERARIUM
MY PROFESSOR DECIDED TO GAVE US A TASK AND THAT IS A CONCEPT BOARD WHICH HOW WE GIVE A DRAWING PRESENTATION OF HOW WE DESCRIBE WHERE DID OUR CONCEPT CAME AND SO ON.
THIS STRUCTURE WAS INSPIRED BY A BASKETBALL HOOP BECAUSE WE WERE TALKING ABOUT THE FEU UAAP AND IT INSPIRED ME TO BUILD A CONCEPT RELATING TO BASKETBALL AND THAT IS THE BASKETBALL HOOP. THE PURPOSE OF THIS STRUCTURE IS TO APPRECIATE THE BUTTERFLIES BECAUSE IT IS HARD NOW THAT A LOT OF BUTTERFLIES IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST HAZARDS BY EATING ALL THE LEAVES IN THE FOREST. AND FOR THAT SOLUTION, IT IS NICE THAT THEY’LL HAVE AN CLOSE BUT ENOUGH SPACE FOR THEM TO FLY AND AT THE SAME TIME PEOPLE CAN APPRECIATE THEM.
First let us talk about the SPACE, this is closed area for appreciating the butterflies. You can walk around inside, it is a spacious place, people can walk around and butterflies can fly around freely even though it’s inside a structure.
Now let’s move on to FORM, it is closed area and inside of the structure that’s where the butterflies can fly around. It made out of steel and glass, so that the nature outside will reflect inside. It is proportion or equal it is an eight sided form or octagon.
Let’s talk about STYLE, so we’re in the modern world, so even though we’re in a zoo or museum. I made the structure modern. Full glass on so that it is reflection inside.
Lastly the ECONOMY, it is consist of these materials., rebar steel and structural steel are something to form the structure. Flagstone flooring is for the flooring in the butterfly area especially the lepidopeterarium area. And ofcourse, tempered glass this is the overall thing that will enclosed the structure.

UNDERWATER Our professor gave us a project to illustrate a Utopian impression of your selected site in Manila to render a view of the year 2118. So, I chose Malabon because of how it is always flood there so why not be with the water and live underwater around hundred years later. Living below the sea is possible, at least for a short time. So what is stopping us creating colonies to ease over-population, or guard against disasters? Hundred years from now living underwater is possible because of technology. It is overpopulated what more in our next generation. So my concept here is to live underwater. Especially the area that always hit by flood like Malabon.

TRIP TO KASAYSAYAN
Tumblr media
As for the midterm blog project, me and my groupmates decided to go on a trip and visit Intramuros. We came here as soon as our professor told us so that we won’t be having problem of lacking time on submission. We visited Intramuros last September 19th 2018. It is pretty hectic going their because the public transportation is taking advantage of us because they thought we were a tourist, but in the end we made it there peacefully safe. We made it in time not to sunny and also not raining. And there’s only few people around there that time.
Tumblr media
The building that got my attention is the one behind the sign “Intramuros” it is the half and half white at the top and orange at the bottom. I love about this structure is the hues and texture because of the colors it reminded me of it.
Tumblr media
As you can see by the approach in the Intramuros they’re more likely old structures. It has a theme and that is vintage nice Spanish theme.
Tumblr media
As you can see in this picture, the one who constructed the space was thinking about the space and order. For the cars and persons has their own space.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Every sight in Intramuros has its own princles of architechtural design. Let me elaborate it with you. Like for example the balance it should be equal like the windows of the structures. Contrast it emphasize the mass, color, time, texture and size. And ofcourse, the scale and proportion which is the movement and can be measure visually.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I want to generalise about the aesthetic field. Intramuros is one of the tourist spot in the Philippines. So ot has a lot of aesthetic spot. I must that one of the task of aesthetic theory which is experience dictates appropriate theoretical operations, meanings, and structures.
I have some shots that was taken inside the Fort Santiago to really experience the beauty of nostalgia withing every structure inside of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Quick background history about Fort Santiago, it is a citadel first built by the Spanish conquistador, Miguel López de Legazpi for the new established city of Manila in the Philippines. The defense fortress is part of the structures of the walled city of Manila referred to as Intramuros. The fort is one of the most important historical sites in Manila. Several lives were lost in its prisons during the Spanish Colonial Period and World War II. José Rizal, one of the Philippine national heroes, was imprisoned here before his execution in 1896. The Rizal Shrine museum displays memorabilia of the hero in their collection and the fort features, embedded onto the ground in bronze, his footsteps representing his final walk from his cell to the location of the actual execution.

Looking back to what our professor discussed about in Theory of Architecture, it is nice that you recognize how to appreciate structures that is nostalgic. Because, you regard it as aesthetically pleasing. It is serious that the person and the structure have a relationship with it, for you to really treasure the significance of the social system. The organizational patterns of it actually made me appreciate it more the details about it is so artistic. It takes in a spatial system to it as you can envision in the photographs provided. My experience of it is so awesome because seeing it personally has a huge difference just looking on the screen of your computer. To be honest, without this project I doubt that I can see the real beauty in person because for me you can see everything on the internet but viewing it in person is way more appreciative.

As for today’s blog, our professor was given us a task to create our own zine that can be able to give our own personal spaces creativity in a narrative. Thus, I resolved to produce a report of my personal space my public transportation from Alabang to Far Eastern University because that’s what I always see in my everyday lives. Waking up in the dawn, then getting a shower. My daddy has the time to drop me off at the bus terminal and from there I’ll ride Alabang to Kalaw and that’s not the conclusion of public transit. Later on the bus, I will ride UV Express or a Jeepney from Kalaw to Far Eastern University. It’ll take me one and a half hour or two to be there.
We will be talking about proxemics what our professor had discussed the past lectures. Proxemics is a term applied to denote the study of our purpose of space and its describes the space between people and their interaction. Proxemics is the written report of the distance people leave between themselves and others within various positions and in diverse refinements. In daily life, people distance themselves, although it is a subconscious activity. The space is measurable, and can dictate our beliefs. It can make us nervous or relaxed. Based on my research this condition was introduced by Edward Hall in the 1950’s. Proxemics can be separated into two territories, physical and personal. Proxemics can be classified into two territories, physical and personal. Physical territory is the space that we are commanded to occupy, given condition and positions. Like for instance in my zine I was granted my own physical space like in the bus my chair, or the moment I’m in the classroom and has a spot to sleep because I was provided a physical place that is commanded to fill. And the other is personal territory, it is split into four regions; public, personal, social, and informal.

Alter Ego We, as an architect student, was once given a task again for us to make any headdress out of folders only. What is headdress? According to Wikipedia it is a an ornamental covering or band for the head, especially one worn on ceremonial occasions. And the moment I heard that I was inspired to make something about traditional Korean headdresses. I was thinking what concept I can do with folders, I tried being unique as possible because everyone started with cutting the area of the head and the another one on the top head. So I was playing around then I cut the folder just flat and cut it horizontally five times. Then that's how I started my headdress compared to others it is pretty unique I must say. Overall, it is really fun to make this headdress and be creative with your own mind and there is nothing wrong to be unique. The main objective of this activity is for us to learn our topic in the Theory of Architecture. It is really nice that you can relate the topic in a headdress because of the concept that you did.

Doggo
We, as an architect student, was once given a task for us to make any small assemblage. What is assemblage? According to Wikipedia it is a work of art made by grouping found or unrelated objects. I saw tin cans, Yakult bottles, and popsicle sticks. And that’s just about it that is lying around in our house. For me to receive more knowledge about assemblage, I googled some of the examples of it so that I’ll find a good overview what will guide me in making my own.
I was thinking what concept I can do with tin cans, I tried cutting holes in my tin can and then I remember there’s an assemblage and it’s a dog since I’m a lover of dogs why not make one just for fun. So I already have a muddle in my tin can, I just need to place something in the hole to be the neck and I accidentally cut the other tin can in half. But I still manage to make it the head of the dog.
Overall, it is really fun to make this small assemblage and be creative with your own mind. The main objective of this activity is for us to learn our topic in the Theory of Architecture about the Principles of Architecture after making small assemblage our professor did discuss about the principles. It is really nice that you can relate the topic in a small assemblage because of the concept that you did.

This can be found in Baguio Museum, which is an Ifugao-inspired at the corner of Harrison and Governor Pack Road in Baguio City. The museum not only holds the history of Baguio but also the Cordillera’s and Ifugao’s as well.  Jars, utensils, musical instruments, deities, jewelries, apparels and fabrics are encased on a couple of glass panels. There were also excellent models made from wood and thatch of different huts used by tribes during the olden days. And on one corner, burial jars and carved wooden coffins, one of which contains the real mummy that the museum curator specifically told us not to take pictures of.

This place is known as the ‘Bell House’. The house itself is quite small but the view gives a breathtakingly feeling that will mark in every tourists’ mind. Rooms in here are beautifully preserved and staffs are also nice and friendly too. They gave a special tour around the place. Most of the people who visited here gave an ‘excellent’ mark in review.
The background or the picture itself was taken at The Lost Cemetery of Negativism.
It is way more fun going there when it’s summer you know Philippines the weather it’s just so hot. Baguio is a Summer Capital when it’s summer everyone visits this place. Because of the temperature here is really relaxing which everyone would love.
