Things You May Not Know About Software Developers
In this era of technology, smart gadgets play an important role in our daily lives. Adults using tablets or smartphones and kids playing video games are the popular images that take place daily.

Well, you might wonder where these smart devices come from. But not anymore! They all start with software developers. They are creative minds behind all the computer programs that make devices useful and functional. But there are things you may not know about software developers such as:
1.  Software Developers Learn In Different Ways
Though 43 percent of developers have a Computer Science degree or at a course related to that field, 69 percent state they are partly self-taught. On the same note, developers can have different educational paths. Most of them learn on the job, others online, in school or a mixture of all these paths. Check out iTrellis to know more about software developers.

2.  Gaming Software Developers Are The Happiest
Nearly every company employs a developer. Among all these companies, the developers in the gaming industry seem to be the happiest. At least this industry does its best to ensure their developers are happy.

On the other hand, developers in industries such as the Government and Telecommunications are not satisfied with their position. That is why these industries rank the lowest in job satisfaction for developers.
3.  An Average Software Developer Is Relatively Young
In the United States, the average age of a software developer is 32 years. On the contrary, the average age of every active physician in the U.S. is about 52 years.

This means the software developer person will be young, and at times inexperienced. This average software developer always has experience of not more than 5 years. In fact, of all developers have less than ten years of experience.
4.  There Is A Difference Between A Software Developer And Software Engineer
To the untrained eye, both software developers and software engineers are basically the same. But in the world of IT, the differences seem obvious. However, the roles of the two seem to overlap.
For example, both developers and engineers can do the coding procedure for all software. So, how do you differentiate between a software engineer and a developer?
i)  Responsibilities
Both can solve problems and troubleshoot issues around software. They can further write and code programs for software to function.
However, these are some difference in their duties. For instance, a programmer is basically a records keeper. On the other hand, a software developer would then be the accountant and the engineer would be the top chartered accountant.

This means that a developer solely concentrated on software capabilities. He/she provides technical aid to users and solves their problems. Alternatively, a software engineer does not only concentrate on those roles but engages with customers directly as well.
ii)  The Work Perspective
In terms of their work perspective, a software developer mostly concentrates on how to meet the needs of only one customer. This involves going into specific details of products to satisfy that individual customer.
A software engineer, on the other hand, has a more detailed perspective. They target the entire market in a region, country or industry. The engineer as well applies certain engineering principles to the development process of software.

Conclusion
Apart from these things, there are others that you may not know about software developers. If you want to be one, you should consistently train on the current technologies and methods to keep you updated. Lastly, you should be able to know what course to study or train yourself.
