A detail about Order 66 that always makes me so profoundly sad to think about that I think gets over looked are the parents. The parents who gave their kids to the Jedi, many of whom were probably proud to know that their kids were out there helping people. In the rise of the new empire how many parents were mourning the massacre of their children? On top of that they probably could've even voice that grief to others without possible danger from the new regime.
#not to say the other details about the whole thing aren't also sad but this one in particular gets me#the fact that so many parents lost their babies kills me to think about#even the ones who were grown adults at that time bc it doesnt matter how old you kid has grown that will still always be your baby#jedi order#order 66#the clone wars#revenge of the sith#star wars

I have a headcanon that Mace Windu occasionally helps out with the creche he came from, lending a hand and being a good role model. However, this has resulted in some younglings figuring out that he's really not that intimidating, and the worst he'll do is glare and lecture you. Which turns into a group of them just messing with him for fun because they've gotten used to it. Like he has to resign himself that now he's a target for shenanigans.

Jedi Masters get gifted "Galaxies best Dad/Mom/Parent" mugs by their padawans regularly.
It's just a mug, and the parent part is crossed out and has "Master" written over it. But it's not with a pen that's made for writing on porcelain so the correction is gone after 3 times in the Space-dishwasher.
Sometimes there isn't even a correction, they just get gifted a "Galaxies best parent" mug.
Are they a parent? No
Did they ever want to be a parent? No
Do they own a "best parent" mug and treasure it more than anything? Yes, yes they do.

Jedi culture is a padawan smacking one of their friends, poking them, playing a prank on them, etc. and then, when they try to retaliate, running away shouting- "REVENGE IS NOT THE JEDI WAY!!!"
