one of the most disappointing things about andor season 2 to me is the complete disregard of cassian's characterisation in rogue one and thus the lack of build-up to said characterisation. we never see him do any kill missions or anything that sets him up as the man who kills tivik with ease and yet remorse in his introductory scene in rogue one. where is the seasoned rebel assassin. the ruthless rebel spy who weighs his guilt and his duty and picks duty every time (until he didn't, with jyn). where is that man

RIP Lonni Jung. On the one hand you were found dead in a park by a loose tooka; on the other hand you managed to put together several key nodes of the Death Star plans in just hours of rooting through Dedra's files, thus ensuring the survival of the Rebellion and setting off the downfall of the entire ISB via its association with your treachery.
You were a real one.

I just…
I’m trying not to let this last arc, Cassian’s storyline, and Bix storyline ruin the season for me. I loved everything else for the most part.
K2 and Melshi were 10/10. No notes.
But do not infer that Cassian’s next scene should be him meeting Tivik on Kafrene to be told Bodhi Rook defected. That literally doesn’t happen for another year.
And why did it take 60 minutes for the titular character to show up? Don’t get me wrong, I loved the story between Luthen and Kleya, but they didn’t not have time for this with the 3 episodes.
Also, on top of the baby, they’re on Mina Rau. Mina Rau!? Where something horrible happened to Bix and is Imperial controlled that will look for people with no visas. Makes total sense to me.
Also where was Jyn Erso in all of this? She didn’t have to been shown, but I would really like to have seen how the Alliance got from Imperial scientist Galen Erso to a Liana Hallick in Wobani. Because how the hell did Alliance Intelligence figure who she was, but the Empire didn’t? I need to see the investigative pieces being put together. We got more from Dedra finding Axis and that was 1 sentence!
#andor#andor spoilers#star wars#I guess I’m#andor critical#pardon any grammar errors I wrote this right after. it’s very raw#I’m so annoyed right now

am i thrilled that bix survived? yes. is it a satisfying writing choice to have her absence be the ONLY FUCKING REASON that cassian chooses the rebellion? NO
likw i'm sorry, genuinely what the fuck are these writing choices. the reason i always liked cassion in RO was because he was so adamant about the rebellion, he was willing to do anything if it meant prevailing against the empire. but this entire season, he's been wishy washy and more devoted to bix than to anything else
you'd think that after what the empire did to fucking ferrix and to bix that he would be furious, he'd be ready to take those bastards down, but he continues to disappoint me. where is the cassian i remember from RO. what tf happened to "i've been in this fight since i was six years old"
