Large format pellet-fed 3D printer
Massive Dimension offers components and ready-made manufacturing cells for pellet-fed large format (3 mm nozzle) 3D printers.
There are a couple big advantages of pellet-feed. Material feeedstock is less costly (PLA ~ $8/kg for pellets instead of ~ $15/kg for filament). Also, pellets can be made from old 3D prints or other material via a shredder like the Filabot and fed back into the extruder.
MD shows their components being mounted to industrial arms.
This guy is using MD parts to make a more traditional 3-axis design.
