Ulysses Dies At Dawn

I did this drawing a while ago when I first listened to UDaD and only just realized I never actually posted it, It's the only Mechanisms album I've ever listened to but I enjoy it.

Different lighting under the cut! As I'm rather indecisive with this piece.

A Mother's Daughter

I saw this painting and immediately knew I wanted to turn it into something Dionysus themed, and of course I soon landed on The Bacchae. This drawing being Agave with parts of Pentheus- Now, here I could go on about the idea of looking at the Bacchae through a transgender lens, I solidly see Pentheus as Agave's daughter though he doesn't know that until Dionysus gives him a taste of it, but I think I'll write a post about that on it's own some day. For now, I just intend this to show the violence in the play from mother to child, but also from self to self (as Agave intentionally looks a bit like Pentheus, being his mom, and I've dressed her in a fawn pelt just the same.), it's also intentionally showing it in a sort of 'mad' way with the gore being synonymous with the grapes of Dionysus- blending into each other, skin blending into leaves, in a way that doesn't quite make sense.

I turned some sketches I did (mostly for learning anatomy, or getting an idea of certain characters) into full drawings. Just a grab bag from different projects. Hector design by one of my friends!

Surprise! Design for a random Greek myth character that I barely see mention of but found, that I could find exactly 1 pot depiction of, which. the lack of mentions make sense, as she's just been. In Tartarus, except for my beautiful mind where Hermes bails her out and they get her wings back from Achilles. By the way her wings were gifted to Peleus and Thetis who gave them to Achilles. Which makes sense that would be the retrospective concept, given his title of swift-footed, as Arke means swift. I wanted to give her another light and water theme, like her sister, but I didn't want to just do a faded rainbow- So I settled on the look light has reflected through water. smiles -Also note, I did reference drawings by Wolfythewitch for a few of the poses. If I should ? take this down because of that? please tell me.

Poor thing, Poor thing

Art of Johanna (and Lucy) from Sweeney Todd I was using to try and get a painterly style down and try painting lighting into a piece instead of using too many extra layers! Not sure how much I like this finished product, I don't think how I'm used to drawing lends itself to it, but it was good practice. Traced over The Letter by James Carrol (og painting under the cut) ps. I've got some really good Moist Von Lipwig art I'm posting tomorrow evening.

Couple of drawings made while/after reading Men at Arms, I enjoy the little guys. Sad about Edward after I went through the thought to draw him. Working on a couple bigger pieces, still going to be more pages like this in the meantime!
