If I could express what these abstract themes and colors mean to me I would not have to paint them. I’m just simply obsessed with these beautiful colors. 💙💖💜 (abstract) acrylic 12x16 stretched canvas 2020 (at Indianapolis, Indiana) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAdNDXzgw0y/?igshid=njn363iiev6r

The Mystical Journey acrylic 10inch stretched triangle canvas 2020 JS - Learning to proceed without certainty. Having the courage to break the patterns in your life that no longer serve you. Creating ones life with intention and purpose. Embracing this very moment and with a perception of magic one can embrace their own truth and that is found within. Enchanted Forest - - - - acrylic 4x5 ft gallery canvas - Started in 2018 and still in progress. This piece was on display once in 2018. This is the largest canvas I have ever had the privilege to work on. Before, I didn’t have the space or the investment. It’s much like doing a mural by its size. A shift in my painting technique was a relearning process. To sway the paint brush sometimes in wide strokes was a refreshing sensation, I must say a sort of expressive liberation. And with this piece I simply wanted to bring the viewer to a beautiful place of solitude I had imagined. So on a whim I created intuitively this forest view with elements of surrealism, magic, and mystery. To share this beauty with others. To feel it when witnessed/standing before it. My soul is definitely poured into this painting. Wishing you a day of peace my friends 💙 https://www.instagram.com/p/B_NrFXPga5U/?igshid=uf153immnhvh

Hope acrylic 12x16 stretched canvas - This is about the way you respond to the negative circumstances and challenges in ones life. Step outside of your fear and react with clarity, nourish with hope, find peace that is within your control and create something significant. Even if it’s small. Spread the light to all in need. “Fire of Fortitude” acrylic 12x16 stretched canvas 2020 - Fire of Fortitude The flame is tones of red that represent emotions that are not really contained. Sparks. The fire tries to consume her. It has a focal point but extends outward - the external stressors. The trees and darkness are the night - depression. She is trying to find the way through it all but it's hard to see. She holds her ground, regress, a primitive nature to stay strong and to be defensive. She endures her pain with great fortitude/strength. The sky is opening and pouring out like a ceremonial washing jar, and she is awaiting for a celestial or ethereal presence to cleanse and fill her. #folktaleweek #folktaleweek2019 1st prompt : HOUSE - There was no moon shining that night, but with all the stars in the sky mirrored by the fireflies in the forest, the earth glowed warm. For what feels safe, has shadows hiding in the corners waiting patiently. Singing lingers in the air like the chimney smoke that wonders away. Inside, the home is merry and full of folly. - #sketchbook #acrylicsketch #acrylicillustration #illustrationartist #folklore #folkart #childrensillustrations #storyart #makersgonnamake (at Indianapolis, Indiana) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4dViLZACY9/?igshid=9z4anow47tvp

#diadelosmuertos Happy Day of the Dead my friends! 🌼💀 I wanted to share with you a few of my creations in celebrating this special holiday. Ever since I did a school class research project when I was younger for this holiday I’ve been genuinely fascinated and it resonates with me. To celebrate our the memories of our lost loved ones with such color and vibrancy is refreshing and so emotionally healthy. It’s recently a very trendy and popular holiday for its lush aesthetics. But I believe in the ritual of the alters and making of gestures to recall the dead with positive and loving engagement. So here is a paper mache candy skull mask with some iridescent purple brushing and freestyle design. Also is my wooden box alter of my mother made up with paint and resin and is embedded with her random costume jewelry to keep her essence of her favorite things. Oh and my mother loved the color red. I set her alter up on the book shelf with several other passed on loved ones, not all appear in the last image. Even my cats have a tribute. I honor their memories and light a candle in heir names. 🕯♥️ (at Indianapolis, Indiana) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4X_SLygnMa/?igshid=1ezpc75a1dmlg
