▸ THE other’s words render him silent for a few moments, and Jeongguk isn’t quite sure why he had allowed it to affect him to such an extent. ( Perhaps it’s the idea that someone might actually care about his well being, but he insists that isn’t so. ) But he catches himself quickly, scrambling to put on a smile and nod as he slides his phone into his pocket. “Yeah, I’ll, uh, make sure to keep that in mind. Thanks. Guess I’ll see you around?”

▸ “JUST because the jeans are tight doesn’t make them ridiculous. It’s called style, hyung, style.”  He purses his lips and circles the male, muttering a ‘not bad’ while offering an approving nod of his head. “I think you look good in those clothes. Good enough that I might let you keep them. Emphasis on might.” It isn’t long before he’s changing his mind, physically noted by shaking his head. “Actually no, that’s one of my favorite shirts. And... I’ll think about the jeans.”

▸ JEONGGUK’S head whips in the direction of the other, confusion evident in the wrinkle of his nose as he raises his hands in defense. “I, uh— Curious?” Wrong answer. Shit. “I mean... I was just stopping by for... personal reasons,” that I’m not too sure about either, he wants to say. “Very important reasons.” He coughs into his fist to fill the awkward silence. “Why did you come here?” He questions in an attempt to direct the attention away from himself with eyebrow quirked.

We should probably get some coffee or something warm before we go, so we don’t freeze out there though.” He looks at the other with his lips tugged into a small smile, arms folded tightly across his chest as a shiver runs through him. “It’s already pretty cold as it is, and the stars are just barely out yet. Just let me know when and where, and I’ll be there with blankets and junk food—the best combo of two if you ask me.”

▸ “THERE’S a nice ladder right over there,” His finger flies in the direction of said ladder, other hand rubbing at the back of his neck. “So I got curious and I... climbed.” The words sound dumber as they’re leaving his lips, and he’s fiddling with his fingers behind his back. He knows he probably shouldn’t be up here. “But, uh, I guess I could be asking you the same. Shouldn’t you be in class right now? I mean—I should be in class too, but it’s pretty hard to stay focused in that class when sleep deprivation comes to bite you in the ass and your professor seems to have no life in his voice whatsoever.”

▸ HIS legs are moving before he gets a chance to stop himself, jogging a little in order to match the other’s relentless pace. He isn’t sure where they’re going, but something compels his body to move as if on its own accord. He reaches into his pocket to retrieve his phone to check the time. 7:19 A.M. Jeongguk’s pretty certain he has somewhere to be by 8:00, but whatever this is shouldn’t take too long, and it’d be rather rude to simply walk away now. “Where are we even going? I’m not being kidnapped, am I?’

“Please turn the light on.” Sohye whispered, scared of being in this room alone any longer since the power had gone out but she was too scared to go see if it would turn back on. When she saw his face, she quickly hid her own behind her school bag since she recognized him from her classes. "I swear I'm the only nineteen year old who is scared of the dark."

▸ HE never imagined the halls could be so dark during a power outage, eyes squinted as he clutches to the strap of his backpack. He’d be lying to himself if he said he wasn’t at least a bit afraid, his trembling hand reaching out into the abyss in attempts to navigate himself through the building. He’s looking for a light switch, a person, anything to assure him that he isn’t alone. And he’s doing fine until— His body jolts when his ears pick up the faint whisper, and Jeongguk has to actually throw his hand over his mouth to suppress a yelp. “Oh, uh. Right,” he says, doing his best to steady his breathing after his previous scare. “I would but—I can’t see shit.”

Jeongguk’s eyebrows are lifted as he feigns an expression of curiosity, not a trace of solemnity laced into the tone of his jest. “You’re not gonna turn into some werewolf on me, are you? I mean, if you did it’d be pretty rad. I think. So long as you don’t—you know—consume me.”

Good thing that saying about beauty having no brains is completely bogus; otherwise, I’d be pretty screwed, don’t you think?“
