brown butter caramel choco. chip ➪

1 cup browned butter

3 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 tbs cinnamon (optional, but I like the extra flavor)

3/4 tsp salt

roughly 1 tbs vanilla

2 eggs

1 cup sugar

1 cup brown sugar

chocolate chips (add as many as you want. I usually use dark chocolate chips)

cream sugar and butter, add one egg at a time until fully combined. add your vanilla & cinnamon now. sift together all dry ingredients in separate bowl. combine well. add chocolate chips.

bake 10-15 minutes at 375 degrees. at the last minute or two add caramel topping to center. top with flaky sea salt to taste.

1 cup sugar

2-3 tbs cold butter

4 tbs whipping cream (add more depending on how runny you want it)

add sugar to saucepan, melt down until it is liquid. if it seizes on you, keep it on heat and keep moving it in pan. add butter one tbs at a time, it will bubble, keep mixing. take off heat to prevent burning, slowly add whipping cream to desired consistency. cool for at least an hour.

to add to cookies, scoop balls about the size of quarters and place on parchment paper. freeze for 10-15 minutes. it doesn’t need to be rock solid just firm enough to handle.
