Nobody understands your F/O like you do. I don't just mean as a character, I mean as a person. Nobody understands who they are like you do. You know all their little idiosyncrasies, habits, preferences that most people forget... You just know them, so well.

You know their favourite food, but specifically how they like it. You know how they prefer to sleep, maybe they hog the blankets and you get extra just for them. You know how what makes them laugh, without fail.

You know what topics to handle with care and you can always tell if they don't feel their best. You're the first one to ask them what's wrong, you're the first one to get them to open up and be honest.

They love how much you acknowledge and affirm who they are. That means the world to them, because nobody bothered before. They were never given the chance to be their truest self before, and that makes you a bit sad.

They're not used to being so open with somebody, and that used to scare them, but now? It just makes them so, so happy. You feel honoured to be the person they let in.
