“ yo, yo!!! ” scott sprints over to the passerby, and practically jumps in front of them. he hands (or shoves) them his phone, and leans on his back foot as if to naturally pose. “ wanna get involved in something awesome? this natural light is hittin’ all my right angles. it’d be rude not to tiktok the shit outta this. ” a smile. “ don’t ‘cha think? ”

phone in hand , jessica crosses her arms . she was used to filming tiktoks for scott , especially when they were supposed to be studying , but she felt it was only right to poke fun at him. head tilts & eyes narrow at the towering figure before her , sizing him up in a cursory glance , “ i mean , you’re no chase hudson but i think my camera work oughta do ‘ya some good , ” she teases. it’s hard to bite back a smile in her sudden playful mood but she manages to do so anyways. “ tell me again ━ ━ what’s in it for me , y ’ know , other than you swearing on your life that the phrase ‘ tiktok the shit outta this ’ will never be used again ? ”

CALLIOPE‌ !

“is cereal a breakfast food?” she wondered aloud, bringing a spoonful of cereal into her mouth, wondering quietly as she swallowed it. “i’ve only ever had it as like… a late night snack, and trust me, it’s a game changer,” and she took another spoonful. “omelettes? alright. i’m interested. what about omelettes?”

jessica reached for the box of cereal , turning it over to scan its ingredients. she shakes her head ━ ━ a clear sign of disapproval , “ i mean , late snack or not , it’s a nutritional nightmare made for and by americans who hate their kids. ” while it was mainly hyperbolic , the very possibility that there could be a correlation between  her excessive intake of cereal and her rather . . . stagnant developmental years was a greek tragedy in itself. was that second bowl of frosted flakes ever really worth it ? either way , she would swear that her equally disastrous consumption of red bull cancelled it out.  her eyes landed on calliope , who had clearly been eating cereal as jessica spent the last few seconds chastising it , “ um , no offense to you though . ” leaning back on her chair , she was ready to let the breakfast food talk cease until an excitement possessed jessica once more at the mention of what jessica believed to be the ‘ best dish ever ’  : the omelette . “ oh my god , right. okay , what not about omelettes , y ‘ know ? ” a rhetorical question , of course.   “ it’s super customizable , cheap , and easy to make . like , what more can a girl ask for ? ”

oh, fuck. there was that sharp pang in her chest again ━ ━ except this time, it came with long , dark hair & a pair of light eyes that she had become so familiar with. it’s fine ! everything’s fine. act cool ; jess has practiced this exact situation in her bathroom mirror more times than she’s willing to admit. taking one earbud out , she offers a faux smile as she reluctantly made her way over. “ hi ,” a quiet greeting , delilah had a way of softening jess in that way . . .  even with everything that happened. “  um , so , the gym huh ? pretty cool stuff. ” . . . well , that could have been more awkward , right ?

“what do you think it’s normal?” she looked up, more serious than she should’ve as she poured milk into an empty bowl. “to pour cereal first, then milk or the other way around?” she wondered, adding the cereal straight from the box right after.  (( @gallagherstart· ))

“ i refuse to participate in this debate , ” she rested her head upon her palm , nose scrunched at the bowl before her. jessica was practically traumatized after consuming only sugary , off - brand cereal every morning for about a decade ━━ at least that’s what she would argue. either way , she had had this same conversation with all five all of her siblings one hundred times over. “ besides , cereal is a sorely overrated breakfast food. let’s debate about omelettes instead , ” she mused with far too much excitement.

jessica’s eyes shifted from her tray to the girl sat opposite of her. it was a particularly loud day in the cafeteria & she was not keen on starting conversations with anyone … let alone another self - important legacy looking for something to complain about. sure , jessica could’ve just ignored her ramblings , however , a simple roll of the eyes didn’t feel like a satisfactory reply. so she began with rancor - coated words , “ here’s my question : why do privileged dickheads like you always assume i care about your first - world problems ? ”

jess grew up as the youngest ( of five ) in a somewhat shameless - esque situation ; shitty parents & their children who were forced to grow up a little too quickly. 

despite having always been a sympathetic person , jess was a strangely chaotic child , definitely a loose cannon ready to break any law if bribed with the right flavor of  coca - cola. due to the fact that her name was becoming one common among local police stations , her sibling( s )  got her a laptop so that she might keep herself busy in other ways. 

when she wasn’t toying around with conspiracy theories about the government , she was watching pirated , horribly made spy movies. she watched them ALL the time growing up & she found that she took a liking to ~ hackers ~ especially. she eventually got into coding herself & was terrifyingly good at it. 

to keep this brief , she got involved with the wrong crowd of people online & was brought into the middle of a scandal that involved the town’s overtly h*mophobic mayor & an affair tm if you get my drift ( if you have seen assassination nation , jess is essentially the protag’s younger brother fdnjsmfjdmskd ).

she was nineteen at this moment & opted out on college despite being offered a spot at gallagher fresh out of high school. rather than serve her sentence , she essentially promised to attend gallagher & use her talent to serve a “ better purpose. ”

an introvert who is naturally very  ...  defensive ?? for no particular reason ,, has selfish tendencies but , in her defense , it’s a habit of self - preservation.

despite her elusive personality , she doesn’t really want to completely be invisible to everyone :( she’s just used to blending into the background & making a difference from behind a screen. 

literally runs on coffee & energy drinks but still seems sleepy & out of it most of the time

curious !! about !! everything. has a tendency to fixate on certain things , which can occasionally work to her benefit but usually just transforms into different obsessions that make her feel real lost & overwhelmed once she’s completely lost interest . 

enjoys material comforts, as evidenced by several of her attempts at starting a collection of sorts ... i.e , stamps , cool - looking pebbles , night lights , license plates ( don’t ask about the legality on this one )

rarely sways in her emotions once her mind is made up. she can hold a grudge like nobody’s business & she is completely , wholeheartedly loyal to the ones she loves , almost always to a fault.
