Hello everyone! This is just an announcement that I will be opening properly on the 14th of January!!!! Check out this Common Assassin Bug (Pristhesancus plagipennis) catching what I believe is an Aphid nypmh. The Common Assassin Bug is in it's 2nd instar out of 5 instars or stages of growth before becoming an adult. This little guy is just under 10mm long. The Common Assassin bug uses it's large proboscis to puncture it's prey as you can see in this shot. It is amazing what you can find if you stop for a moment and look closely at the environment around you! I can't wait for storm season to begin! It has been too long between lightning strikes and I need to hear Thor calling again. This image was taken earlier this year from the Redcliffe Jetty as the storm raced offshore. Why not have a double emu morning? I haven't posted in a while so I am making up for it today. This is a juvenile emu hanging out with his siblings and parents near dusk. I love their feathers, they look so soft. I am opening up a small studio in Camp Hill in September. I am so excited! Going to have a small opening night event with prints for sale. As we were exploring the Parachilna Gorge we came across this little female Common Wallaroo (Macropus robustus) chilling amongst the grass. Most of the time the roos, wallabies and wallaroos would take off as soon as you would get close but she came right up to the side of the car as it was nearing sunset. What a special moment! This evening I was lucky enough to attend the National Geographic Symphony of Our World in Brisbane. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire performance. The image accompanying this post is one I took of a beautiful Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby in the Flinders Ranges in April on sunset. Don't they have the cutest faces? Feeling so inspired now.
