Sauron's speech to Galadriel in s1e8 had a lot of political implications. With Galadriel by his side, Sauron would have legitimated his power over Middle earth.

Galadriel is a puppet, a smokescreen.

The light to blind and bind the people of ME, all the while he worked in the darkness.

And I think it was very neat of him 😏
