jihun's surprised he made it through his shift at work with all the thoughts running inside his head. not to mention the emotions he's trying his best to suppress, but failing at. it's tough enough that fate, destiny, whatever higher power there is out there caused him to miss the chance to join the survival show, but now he finds out his little sister is participating? no, he can't even lie and say she's the one on his mind right now. instead, he's been trying and trying to find the right words to say to @besiwoo.

he had texted his friend to meet him at their usual spot a couple hours ago, and as the hour of reckoning approached, the more and more jihun finds himself realizing his emotions just might lose him a friend tonight. but just how is he supposed to stay calm? siwoo's never had an interest in being an idol (if anyone would know, it would be jihun), and there's no way he was just going with the flow. you can't just 'go with the flow' into a tv show, can you?

as he watches siwoo approach his seat, he straightens his back and swallows his nerves down the best he can. you can't open a conversation with an accusation, that's bad manners.

"hey," he smiles at siwoo, giving him a quick hand up as a greeting. "thanks for coming."

it's been awhile since jihun's visited this particular convenience store. it's the closest one to his childhood home, and he vividly remembers visiting it with his brother, annoying him to buy him ice cream. they'd sit by the entrance next to their bikes and talk about the latest video game that their friends were playing, cooking up a plan on how to convince their father to buy it for them.

he also remembers bringing his younger sister here—this time, he's the one with money. he's learned from his experiences, and walks them to the chips section without her even asking. he'd fondly tell her to get whatever she wanted, before quickly rescinding his offer when she picked up more than three bags of snacks. she's always been a cheeky one, but he doted on her anyway.

that's one of his last memories of her, though, since their parents fell out soon after. their mother took her and left for america, leaving him behind. he tries not to dwell on it, though, knowing that he made the decision himself, and that was the price to pay for chasing his dreams.

"thanks," he smiles politely at the cashier with his head in the clouds. he turns and nearly bumps into the customer behind him, "ah my bad—" he doesn't get to finish his sentence as a wave of familiarity washes over him. in his stunned state, he stares blankly at @ahyoungbe, as if waiting for an answer to why he recognizes her, but barely.

hiya this is @/bexnana coming at you with a second muse: jihun, a former idol who's trying his very best to debut again. he was in a somewhat popular rookie group before the face of the group got into a scandal which led to their disbandment. i’ll leave more details under the cut as well as some plots i had in mind, so please like this post if you’d like to plot! backstory

lived a relatively normal life until one day he attended an idol concert and it changed the trajectory of his life forever

decided from then on to single-mindedly pursue the idol life

his parents were accepting of it as long as he kept up with his studies, but that all went out the window when his father cheated on his mother and the family fell apart

during the divorce, he had the choice of staying with either parent, and his one-track mind chose his father thanks to promises of financially supporting his dream

unfortunately, his mother was unable to provide that for him

he buried all those complicated feelings away deep in his mind and solely focused on training

his hard work paid off when he got signed to a company, where he found his first love

as they trained together, feelings grew, and eventually they debuted together in a 7 person group

it was looking good for them, but right before their first comeback, an article was released exposing their center/face of the group for cheating on his girlfriend

not only was he dating, but he was also playing with multiple women

the group went under fire, and the company decided to cut their losses and put them into hiatus, before eventually disbanding them

it was too much to bear for his crush who completely cut contact with all the members, including him, thus ending his first love

currently

still chasing the dream and auditioning everywhere he can find

it's a fine line between being positive and grasping at straws, and he is performing a balancing act

he's pretending to not notice the cracks in his life

thinks that this is all karma for not supporting his mom during the divorce and choosing his dad

tries his best to keep up positive attitude towards others

ex(es) / they would've broken up fairly recently, the relationship lasted some time between the disbandment of his group and current time (~3 years). he's romantic but very obviously preoccupied with his dreams and lost love to really make anyone feel cherished

(ex-)fans / people who are/were fans of the idol "haru" from the rookie group that debuted and disbanded 3 years ago. he doesn't expect to have any fans anymore especially this late into being a civilian

ex-coworkers / people he's met and encountered during his time in the idol industry including trainees etc

one night stands / he's a pretty romantic guy but since the disbandment he's been feeling more and more empty, and what better way to fix that than losing himself in someone else for a night (has the potential to evolve into fwbs but a decent amount of trust has to be there)

fellow dreamers / idol wannabes..! they encourage each other and maybe make each other worse tbh
