[day 90] back when this blog was actually daily i drew them as sonic characters but i kinda hated those designs even from the jump, so now after having gone through a sonic character drawing training arc a couple months ago, they’ve gotten the overhaul they desperately needed <3

[dbhc flavored] Hermit A Day May '25, Day 3: Tango!

Last year, I drew such a sad and disgruntled Tango :( I wanted to draw him more silly and happy for his day this year, so I decided to draw a Tango from when his story really starts to turn around for the better: the opening of Decked Out 2!

Day 4: favorite "alt" hermit. "Permanente intruder"

In all fairness, when Jhost first found Joe Hills, he thought he had found the perfect target to possess - just some plain ol' guy. He had planned to enter the body and just take over it. Easy and quick!

But once he was in, he was met with resistance. This was not a normal guy, this was an eldritch being pretending to be one!

Joe talked- no, tortured Jhost every day with his unending thoughts that weaved into spirals of poetry, mixing Jhost's own existence. And if it wasn't the poetry plaguing the mind and destroying the ghost it was a chain of thoughts that tried to tie the whole world together. There was no escape from this prison called Joe Hills' mind...

Well, unless the eldritch being needed a quick escape from near death experience, that's when Joe finally allowed Jhost to possess. The sudden freedom drowned out the unfamiliar body movements. Once at safety Jhost got pushed back into the mind without any word of exchange. No "you're welcome", no "thank you".

It took a while for them to find common ground, but eventually Jhost started to respond to the infinitely expanding mind, and Joe even allowed Jhost free once in the blue moon, to cause as much havoc in the world, well as long as it was funny, that is. An unlikely, yet fitting friendship.
