he giggles a soft bit at the pout, “ah, don’t be sad, jinwoo!” he says. having someone that you can bounce ideas off of was always the best. sometimes, you were just stuck, but you wanted to create. the usual things that might give you some form of inspiration, might have completely thrown that out. everyone goes though it; those that are experienced and those that are inexperienced. nonetheless, duri was there to help bounce back ideas and he knew that jinwoo would be there that as well, when needed. he nodded his head, “yeah, i guess that’s true! i guess you can’t really change what’s really working?” he said, a soft shrug leaving his shoulders. there’s a bigger giggle this time, head shaking. “what? a song about me? no, no!” he said, giggling still.
jinwoo just whines, letting his head fall against his keyboard. it lets out a long, out of tune wail, and he lets it play for a few seconds longer before sitting up. “why is songwriting so hard?” he huffs. “i don’t get how people can be, like, professional producers that can pump out tons of songs at a time.” it’s a pride thing for jinwoo, really. the company can easily just buy songs that suit jinwoo and hand them to him on a silver platter. but he wants his mark to be present in everything he sings. genuine music, not just good music. “hyung, how often do the songs you help write end up getting released?” with a mischievous grin, jinwoo sits up again. his fingers play a slow, longing set of chords, one often used in ballads. “my prince is really a knight in shining armor,” jinwoo sings, high-pitched and fluttery.

fmdminki:
“I don’t wear that many dark clothes.” As soon as he said it, he knew it was a lie. As he thought back to the heaps of clothing that was piled in his closet back at Knight’s dorm, he could visualize just how many black articles of clothing were inside of it. The color black dominated the majority of the space his clothes occupied, with a few specks of white or other colors. He did have a pink shirt or two, shirts that he wore on special occasions or just when he felt like mixing things up a little bit with his everyday wardrobe - which was almost never. “You can’t tell me where I can and can’t wear this scarf. It’s mine now to do with as I please.” The smile on his face was enough to tell the younger male that he was just teasing him, and he fiddled with the ends of the fabric of the scarf, gently tugging on them. “Of course I didn’t need to, but I wasn’t to. It’s not like a few presents are going to break my bank.” It would be pretty safe to say that the members of Knight were fairly well off. Having paid their debt off years ago and now eligible to reap the rewards of their efforts - both solo and as a group - Minki was well off and that was putting it lightly. “I know I didn’t, but I did anyway. You’ve been working hard and you deserve something special. You’re welcome. Wear it well. The sweatshirt should help you stay warm during the cold weather.” He reached for one of the menus sat on the table, flipping it open as Jinwoo placed his presents away. “As well as it has been for the past six years, yes. We’re just a little busy working on things, but I’ve been okay. How have you been?”
jinwoo laughs lightly at the elder’s words. “sure, whatever you say,” he snickers. “there’s nothing wrong with black clothes. i think they look sleek.” jinwoo likes the look of monochromatic outfits, though on other people more than himself. his closet is more colorful, though filled with soft, muted pastels and not vibrant pieces. part of it is because of the image his company wants for him. young, charming boyfriend material. innocent and refreshing. but it’s also just jinwoo’s personal taste as well. he doesn’t think he has the face to pull off striking, urban styles. he’s just an incheon flower boy. “ah, you’re right, sorry hyung. just be careful not to spill your coffee on it,” he teases. “would you like me to ask the waiter to turn down the heat in the store so you can stay bundled up?” when jinwoo had first met minki, he’d been too intimidated and awe-filled to ever joke around with the other idol like this. but he’s more at ease around minki now, knowing the other isn’t going to turn his nose up and jinwoo for the teasing disrespect. they’ve grown too close for that. “it’s still really kind of you. thank you for thinking of me.” jinwoo preens, hugging the bag a little closer. “i have a lot of busking gigs in january, so i’ll have to wear it then and tell people that my loving sunbae bought it for me.” jinwoo tilts his head attentively while minki speaks. “i’m glad things are well. at least you’re not too busy to take a little break like this.” jinwoo shrugs. “i’ve been good. the company’s still just trying to get me out there, so it’s a lot of selling myself to the public rather than making music.”

video games hadn’t really been an area of interest for jinwoo, when he’d been growing up. by the time he had reached the age where his peers started investing all of their time on their computers, jinwoo had been too busy diving headfirst into his craft. if he wasn’t in his room fiddling on his keyboard, he was out on the street singing into his little microphone just begging for validation. even when he’d first become a trainee, he’d been too busy with school and lessons to invest his time in hobbies. but when he became a dimensions trainee, he’d finally been shown the light. one of his closest friends in the company had been an avid player, and often dragged jinwoo out to internet cafes during their limited free time to show him the ropes. now that jinwoo has debuted, his relationship with games has evolved even further. pc bangs are the perfect place to find privacy in public. sure, people know who he is, but they tend to leave him alone when he’s got his headphones on and eyes trained on a screen. so now he’s at one of his favorite little spots to hide away while getting out of the house, his fingers darting across the keyboard and mouse rapidly clicking. the thing is though, that jinwoo isn’t particularly good at games. he’s found an appreciation for them over the years, but compared to the others that spent their adolescence obsessing with games, jinwoo is lower than amateur with online games. a frustrated sigh leaves his lips, and jinwoo logs out of the room he’d been getting his ass handed to him in. his headphones slide to his neck, and he decides to stretch his legs for a bit. as he wanders around the room, his eyes fall to a handsome face. jinwoo can tell he’s an idol, just from the way he looks and holds himself, but it takes him a bit longer to place the attractive face to a name. andrew, one of alien’s notable members. a senior in his company, no less, but one he hasn’t really interacted with during his time under dimensions. curiosity piqued, jinwoo wanders over to the elder’s computer. “sunbae-nim, do you mind if i sit here?” he asks, pointing to the empty computer next to him. “wah, you look really good at this.”

the automatic lights flickered on, causing the older male to flinch, eyes opening with a wince at the brightness that seeped through tired orbs. namsoo wasn’t angry, not when he looked over the edge of the couch and saw jinwoo standing by the door, fidgety as always. “oh no, please come in.” he yawned, limbs stretching out with a small sound filling the room. you’d think that the singer would be in the comfort of his own apartment, writing poetry that always seemed to calm his mind down. but nothing was better than a different environment, even if it was his owner’s company building. it helped get the words flowing, keeping things new even if that meant writing in completely random places - he didn’t care. he wasn’t sure on how long he’s been sleeping, but it was good enough that he felt refreshed; not even bothered that someone woke him up. namsoo sat up, moving the journal that was on his chest to the floor, pushing up his glasses to sit on top of his hair. “i guess i was using this room for my nap time instead of practicing.” he joked, rubbing his eyes before finally taking in jinwoo with a smile. “you look cute,” he cooed sweetly, always so happy to see the younger male around the building or even outside. “what’re you up to for today?”
oh god, namsoo had been sleeping. jinwoo had barged right in without any care and disturbed his sunbae when he was napping. how often do idols get to sleep? everyone is so overworked, so exhausted. and jinwoo had disrupted namsoo’s precious sleep. but namsoo didn’t seem upset. at his invitation, jinwoo hesitantly shuffles into the room. he leans against the stretch of wall right near the door, ready to scamper out if the elder really doesn’t want him there anymore. “i nap in the practice rooms sometimes too,” he offers. “though, the studios have couches on them, if you ever want somewhere more... comfortable.” the compliment as jinwoo’s face turning red. he pulls at his sweater, eyes going wide. “oh! thank you, hyung. you, uh- you look really good too. or, you look really good. you just said i was cute. i’m sorry.” why is he so awkward? he clears his throat, trying to arrange his face into something less terrified. “i was going to visit my friend in the corner over there,” jinwoo explains, pointing at the piano. “i have a lot of street performances this month, so i wanted to work on some new covers to try out.” finally jinwoo pushes off the wall and settles into crossed legs across from namsoo. “what were you working on? were you dancing?”

fmdminki:
Minki had first met Jinwoo years ago back when he had done his first guest-judging gig. It was on K-Pop Star 3, a show that he, admittedly, watched more often than most people would first guess. He thought it was a great way to see what all the fresh, new talent had to offer. He was glad he had accepted the show’s offer of coming on though, not that he had much of a choice. BC was well known for pushing their idols incredibly hard. Whenever they got an opportunity to promote their groups or themselves, they took it. That being said, Minki was glad that BC had accepted the show’s offer on his behalf because it led to him meeting Jinwoo for the first time, a very talented boy who had a lot of potential. He was sad to see that he didn’t make it to the end, because he had a gift that even Minki could see, and he wasn’t exactly the nicest when it came to giving people a pass on vocals. Ever since they met for the first time, they developed a pretty good bond, one that grew more and more strong as the years passed by. He smiled when the other male sat down across from him. “Hey, JinJin,” he greeted, using the nickname he had given him. “It’s fine, I just got here myself.” He waved the apology off dismissively. “Wow, I wasn’t expecting this,” he chuckled at the gift bag sliding across the table towards him, picking it up and going through its contents. “Oh, I love this color,” he murmured, placing it around his neck. Luckily he had worn all black clothing, so it didn’t clash with his outfit. “Thank you, JinJin. I actually have something for you too.” He reached under the table and pulled out a medium sized flat box and a gift bag. The box contained a Balenciaga hooded sweatshirt and the gift bag contained a pair of Balenciaga shoes.
jinwoo knows he doesn’t have as much to offer minki as the other can to him. he’s just starting to work on his debt to the company, and doesn’t have much pocket money to spare. but he does what he can, to show his appreciation. the relief on his face when minki seems pleased with the gift is palpable. “it’s nothing hyung,” he laughs. “i thought the color would look really nice on you. plus you wear a lot of dark, so it’s a nice splash of color without being too bold.” when minki immediately winds it around his neck jinwoo just smiles wider. “hyung, we’re inside. you don’t have to wear it now.” but it makes his heart sing nonetheless. as minki’s gift is placed on the table, minki blinks in surprise. he really hadn’t been expecting anything in return. “minki-hyung you didn’t need to,” he murmurs. his eyes widen when he takes in the logo on the two beautiful gifts. jinwoo doesn’t own anything designer, just a bunch of nice-looking knock-offs. it’s too nice of a gift, and it makes jinwoo’s cheeks turn red. “you didn’t have to get me this,” he stammers. “this is- amazing, thank you hyung.” he very, very carefully packs the items back in their packages. the shoe box goes under his seat, and the gift bag stays protectively in his lap. once the shock wears off, jinwoo tucks a piece of hair behind his ear and smiles. “how have you been? has life been treating you well?”

he taps his pen against his lips, eyes staring straight ahead. he did his best to clear his mind, get together all of his thoughts for any ideas that would follow suit. his hair was currently untamed, sitting in one of the big sweaters that he always enjoyed sitting in. he had also managed to squeeze himself in the chair; which he was entirely too big to be doing, but it was somehow that way that duri was most comfortable. even though it very much did not look like he was comfortable at all. nonetheless, he always liked these sessions, bouncing things off one another, writing down the notes to later create something just magical. duri and jinwoo just seemed to be rather good at that, it seemed. he giggled a bit, nodding his head, “puppy love songs are nice!” he said, another giggle leaving his lips. “what about something… more personal to you? if that’s something that you would want to go for.”
jinwoo’s hands fall into his lap, and he pouts helplessly at duri seated across the room. it’s times like that he’s so grateful to have duri with him. when his creative juices are flowing, there’s no one who can stop him. he doesn’t want to hear anyone, see anyone. he just wanted to let his creativity gush out undisturbed. but when he’s struggling, he struggles hard. it’s not something he can get over himself, and jinwoo likes to think it’s because of his inexperienced. having someone with a developed ear and a mature music palette at his side is more than he could’ve ever asked for. “i guess, it’s what my fan base is looking for. i wonder how many years i can ride the schoolboy crush image.” he shouldn’t be worrying too much about the future with how new his career already is. “how about i write a song about you hyung?” he jokes, wide grin on his face.

fmdcandy:
✮ Dance To This // @jinwoofmd
“Just imagine this like it’s a cheering routine.” Candy tells the younger male as she goes over Bingle Bangle’s steps once again. She’s been training Jinwoo as Lipstick’s hidden member since the two of them happened to meet at a dance studio. Now they frequent the same dance studio, practicing and dancing to girl group songs, mainly Lipstick’s. It was to help him with his dancing and to give him a variety show talent. He can’t just go on variety shows and sing, they want fun.
If you’re not fun enough or giving much for the crew to work on, you’ll be edited out. Every artist knows this. You can’t just stand and look good for the camera. To save him from getting edited out, Candy taught him some of Lipstick’s dances. They always start to the main point of the dance since most shows play the chorus right away.
“Aj” She snaps her fingers to get his attention but her feet were moving. “This is my part so you better learn this!” Candy laughs as she continues to dance to Bingle Bangle for the fourth time since they started working on the dance moves. “When you do this part, don’t forget to wink at the camera and smile!” Winking and smiling at the mirror, while she was dancing. “Just have fun dancing, okay?” She stops to catch her breath, turning to the male after.
jinwoo’s bangs are pulled back into a little pony that bobs along to every jerk of his body. there’s sweat collecting at his temples and hairline, just starting to trace trails down his face. but there’s a never-ending smile on his face that matches the soreness of his limbs. jinwoo loves his dance sessions with candy. there’s something so fun, so soul-enriching about girl group dances. they’re meant to make you feel good, and as jinwoo rolls his hips and winks at his reflection he feels all of the stress of the week melting away.
“cheer routine, got it,” he nods. she’s a good teacher, thorough and experienced. it’s probably because the song they’re currently learning is her own. it’s more complicated than he first anticipated, so his mind is running over the different moves, wandering from her words. it’s only when she snaps that he jerks out of his thoughts, blinking apologetically at her.
“sorry noona,” he chirps. his eyes immediately go to follow her moves. it’s like she choreographed it herself, with how well she embodies the dance moves. it helps that it’s her song too, so the dance fits into her group’s image. “i’m good with a camera,” he promises with a smile. “i always have fun, don’t worry.” it’s not like he’d need to be doing this for any other reason. so, jinwoo concentrates, turning to the mirror and copying the same moves she just went over. as she instructed, he focuses more on his expression than the moves. “like that?”

k-pop star 3 is a complicated experience for jinwoo. he has so many fond memories from his time on the show, but it had also been what of the most heartbreaking things he’s ever gone through. one of the best things to come out of the show (aside from his contract with dimensions, of course) is his relationship with minki. the other is someone jinwoo looks up to, but they had just clicked during minki’s time guest-judging. he doesn’t know if it’s as a mentor or as a respected senior, but jinwoo loves whenever he gets to hang around the other. it almost feels like he’s cheating, being so young and inexperienced, but still getting to meet up in private coffee shops like this with minki. “ hi hyung, ” he greets, a flurry of fluttering coats and rosy cheeks as he sinks into the seat across from the other. he beams, bright and excited at the elder. “ i’m sorry i’m late, thank you again for seeing me. it’s been so long since last time. ” he’s barely in his chair, but he’s already reaching into his bag. “ i got you a christmas present, but i haven’t been able to give it until now. ” he slides the gift bag, the contents a warm woolen scarf a deep royal blue, across the table to the other.

busking, busking, and more busking. it’s what jinwoo has to look forward to in january, and honestly he’s pretty relieved. it’s something he’s comfortable with. he’s been doing it for half of his life, practically. the fact that he’s throwing his own songs into the mix is a little new and frightening, but something he’s always dreamed of. so there’s not that much preparation he needs to do. there’s a new cover he wants to do, a recent ost that’s too pretty to pass up on. there’s a nice piano in one of the dimensions practice/dance rooms that jinwoo’s a little obsessed with, so he finds himself gravitating there instead of his keyboard in his dorm. jinwoo doesn’t even think before he tumbles into the room, then immediately stops when he sees the room is occupied. face turning red, jinwoo immediately bows. “ namsoo-hyung i’m so sorry, ” he blubbers out. a small part of his mind is glad he put effort in his outfit and makeup, knowing he might get spotted outside of the company building. jinwoo straightens, fidgeting in his spot. namsoo is always so strikingly handsome, even for an idol. it makes jinwoo feel hot all over with embarrassment and schoolboy affection. “ i, um, can leave? if you want? ”

his hair is a fluffy, unstyled mess around his face. it pairs well with the old high school hoodie he wears, and the glasses perched on his nose that are exclusive for reading, not fashion. it’s a sign of trust, being so dressed down like this. but comfort is always a necessity for creativity, in jinwoo’s mind. he slouches behind his keyboard, long fingers finding familiar chords easily as he thinks. there’s a shapeless melody being formed, one that’s going to take hours of refining to get anywhere close to produceable. but sessions like this aren’t usually about clean, finished pieces of work. it’s more about an outlet for stress and a place to bounce ideas off of each other. he’s so lucky to have a hyung like duri, who takes time out of his busy schedule to meet with jinwoo like this. “ i feel like i’ve been writing nothing but puppy love songs for the past few months, ” he whines. “ i hope you’ve got something more interesting to bring to the table, because i really have nothing. ”

hi hello! my name’s bee, i’m 21 and currently in the est timezone! i’m here to bring my little angel jinwoo aka aj to the group. i’m a little nervous to be playing a solo artist, but i think it’ll be super interesting. you can find his about/bio and his wanted connections pages, and i’ll also put a little summary under the cut! if you wanna chat/plot feel free to give this a like and i’ll pop into your ims.
jinwoo was an only child born to two parents who really shouldn’t have been married
his dad was a news anchor and serial cheater, and his mother was a theater actress who would rather be on the stage than raise a kid
they got divorced when he was nine, and both moved out of incheon so they left him in the care of his maternal uncle, who had three kids of his own
most of the child rearing fell to his aunt, and the two of them grew super close
they’d often run errands together, and during their trips they’d often stop at the outdoor mall where a lot of the buskers would gather
it’s where jinwoo fell in love with entertaining, and even began busking himself with his little keyboard and a microphone
he was scouted by a small company when he was sixteen, and after training for a year they decided to send him to a competition show called k-pop star 3
he placed in the top 10, and did well enough that he drew dimensions’ attention
after getting picked up there, he was a very public trainee for about a year
now they’ve debuted him as a solo artist, and he’s just breaking out into the industry
jinwoo’s pretty mature for his age, after spending the first nine years on his own, and fairly shy off camera. but he’s also fiercely devoted to being a singer, and can get a little intense about his work

Whoa, is that AHN JINWOO? I love him! You might know him as AJ. He’s A SOLOIST and he’s a ‘98 LINER! He’s one of my favorites under DIMENSIONS ENTERTAINMENT. Don’t you think he looks a little like PARK JIHOON?
